MSAR AUG clone. They had one in black with both the carry handle optic and the rails. The original case, 4 mags, but no knife.

I had to hold it multiple times. But ultimately, I resisted the temptation to buy it at $1500.

I recall hearing they had issues.

Now the problem is, I find myself wanting a Steyr Aug.
Any AUG owners here?
Did Steyr make one that takes standard AR15 mags?

Had one many years ago. Bought my brother one 2 yrs ago..

Would buy it again.

Yes they make a NATO stocked version that takes STANAG mags.

Not sure, but think the Hellion also can go left handed.
Yea the hellion can be switched easily from L to R without tools or added parts/ kits, etc

MSAR was only in business from 2007-2015. My oldest son has one, he's a bullpup collector of sorts.

Hey younger people. What do you do with such a thing.
Stroke it like a kitty cat and dream about something like a modern version of red dawn except with energy drinks and hot potato chips aplenty, and an enemy too stupid to search the basements of urban soccer moms houses to find the resistance fighters.

Like most guns now, it’s just a range toy. Kinda neat but also kinda niche. Just something to show off a bit with really. Looky what I’ve got…

Heck Ruger and Optic Planet will rat them out

I lusted for a AUG for a long time and was at a gun show and got to handle one was surprised at how heavy it was. It could be made to eject on rhe left as well. Had a chance to fire a Tavor and found it to be very but heavy. Guess I'll stick to left handed bolt guns.

I used the AUG for a few years on the job. Initially impressed, later preferred the m4/m16.
Shoot one and see if you like it.

I too wanted one until I shot it that was owned by a FFL friend. Yes, it was heavier than I anticipated and didn't like the "forced" shooting position.

Like @GRIZ22, I prefer ARs better. And ARs have so many drop-in trigger options and ways to customize. ;)

I also prefer AR's but the AUG is just cool.
Changing mags on a Bulpup is slow compared to an AR. Triggers usually suck on Bulpups.

A bulpup would make for a handy truck gun. It would fit into a suitcase even better than an AR pistol. Plus the 16 inch barrel = better ballistics / accuracy / etc than a 10.5 inch barrel.

It's the gun of my favorite Christmas Movie - Die Hard.

Hey old guy what do you do with all those fudd guns? Isn't 1 shotgun enough?
Well smart guy first I don't have a balcony to fire off a shot or two like Joe. Second my bed is only 30 feet from the front door. I must have a faster to deploy weapon than that. In the dark I wouldn't know which end to use. Third what's left of my 60's GI Joe guys don't have such a thing and never saw one on a John Wayne movie so how would I know what a magazine in my arm pit is for. Extra ammo? So watch who your putting down chump.
If such an odd judge Dred weapon brings young people into our sport/hobby I'm all for it. I enjoy what Taylor has brought us after all. So junior watch who your fooling with.

Ask a dumb question get a dumb answer.

Bulpups are kind of rare in these parts. I have seen the Springfield Armory Hellion in a few gun shops. It looks odd to me. Too much going on.

The other gun, I'm currently resisting the temptation to buy, is a Century Arms AP5 pistol.

The goal of my gun shop tour, the other day, was see if I could find / handle one of these in person. I traded off my CZ Scorpion and find myself thinking I want something similar. It's like the 1980's all over again with the wide variety of military style semi-autos readily available.

There's talk of a Indonesian company bringing in their licensed copy of the FNC.

I did like shooting semi-auto MP5 FFL friend had.

FYI, there is "bufferless" AR pistol/PCC option from BCA around $500 - https://www.bearcreekarsenal.com/blog/bc-9-bufferless-sale-press-release.html

Had one. It was "quirky", to say the least. Very often, the first rounds loaded from the magazine would not feed into the chamber; there'd be various failures to chamber, double feeds, etc. However, once you got the rifle "hot", it would run just fine. It seemed to hit what I was pointing it at. I got rid of it because 1. it was an orphan; once Microtech went under, there went the parts and support and it didn't take Steyr parts (oddly, I found that mine fed just fine from Steyr AUG mags). 2. It educated me on why I don't really care for bullpups. Anyway, one gun shop I took it to would not even look at it. I did eventually trade it for a really nice longslide Springfield.
