Went into walmart to do my quick peek at the ammo shelf today, and there was a box of "ord-D Ammunition" on the ground behind the counter... I asked the cleark, and he said he would open it for me. 1 box of winchester .223 and one box of Rem .308... I took em both... also there was 8 boxes of .40sw as he said what he had the jerk behind me said Ill take em all to the .40sw:mad:

O-well I got food for 2 of my babys...

This is the 1st .223/.308 ammo in the store in over 2 months... and It never made it to the shelf... Its now in my mags!!!

I feel like an Ammo collector these days..... I dont even want to shoot, Im scared that I wont find it again. Its getting almost as hard to find as 30rd mags in 2003...

That's a little how I am. I don't want to shoot as once I run out I might not have anything left to shoot. Plus I'm low on money so I'm not sure I could afford to buy much else unless it was .22 or something. The bigger calibers cost too much for me to shoot nowadays. $30 for 20 bullets for my 30-06 is just too much for me to spend to target shoot.

Im thinking about getting the .22lr kit for my ar15... I dont know If I should get that, or another pistol... Im in the same boat for cash....

and when I think I have enough for myself, and say to myself "the next ammo I get I can shoot" because it will be my surplus... I end up hanging on to...

I got lucky at walmart yesterday on my lunch break... I saw several packs of WWB 100rd for $19.97 ea. Guy at the desk tells me he just finished unpacking them. I took all 15 packs.

Wow, I've never had another customer swoop in from nowhere and take a deal right in front of me, well, not at a store like Walmart anyway. That behavior is consistent with the stampede we saw at that Walmart last Black Friday.

Anyway, yeah, popping off large caliber rounds just for the heck of it isn't fun anymore.

FYI to those around Gastonia, NC. I was at Walmart in east Gastonia about 30 min ago and they just got some handgun ammo in. The guy stocking it up said it is the most they had gotten in a while. I picked up 2 boxes of Blazer Brass .45acp 50ct and left about 5 more there. I would have bought more, but the funds won't allow it at the momment, nor will the wife :D. They also had about 10 boxes of WWB 9mm 100ct, a couple boxes of WWB .40SW 100Ct, and bunches of .22lr. I did see a few .223 as well. The clerk said he was sure it would be gone by midnight.

Can you say .22? There always seems to be some there.

There seems to be more .40 off and on than anything else.

Other than zeroing in some rifles, I haven't really shot too much lately myself.

I picked up 10 boxes of Remington .45 ACP last Saturday, and 5 boxes of Blazer Brass .45 ACP today. Clerk said they got some 9mm on last night's truck but it was cleaned out earlier today. At least they're getting some now. Maybe supply is starting to match demand.

there seems to be consistent report of WWB sightings at wal mart. i just picked up 11 boxes of 100 rds for 18.95 each yesterday too.

I guess winchester is in a hurry, I opened 4 boxes today and put them into the 50 rd plastic ammo holder and i found 4 extra bullet. The more ammo the better :)

I went to Wal-Mart today and they had plenty of 9mm Winchester White Box ammo in the 100 round packs. Probably had 15 boxes or so. They also had several boxes of 25 and 32 ammo in the WWB. That's all that had in that. Rifle ammo still was scarce. I didn't look to see what they had in Blazer Brass. They had a bit of .22 ammo but not what I wanted. I wanted a box of the Winchester Xperts and they were sold out of those.

The last 3 times I've been in there they have had 9mm ammo. I went in I think last week on a Monday or so and they had probably 30-50 boxes of WWB 9mm ammo. I went back like Thursday and they had 3 or 4 left. Then I go in today and they had probably 15 or so. It doesn't seem to be as hard to find as it once was. I haven't seen much .45 recently though. 30-06 and calibers like that seem to be scarce also but I'm not sure they are even getting more of that in right now as it seems to just be pistol and .22 ammo that I see them getting more of in. .223 ammo seems to come in some too.

"also there was 8 boxes of .40sw as he said what he had the jerk behind me said Ill take em all to the .40sw"

"Unfortunately, sir, you're not the one currently at the cash register. I'll be a sport and leave you box."
