Well I got my reciept reprint today. Made a quick walk around to see if they had anymore and still none. Probably be the last time I buy anything from Wal-Mart for a long time unless another big clearance comes up. Submitted my rebate so hopefully thats all good

The last axis I bought was taken off the shelf and held for me because the person who was certified to walk the gun to the door didn’t get into work until later that day. Although I did show up earlier than the time they told me to come back as I have very little trust of the employees at Walmart. Although I have to say most of the people I have encountered have been very nice and encouraged me to buy more guns lol

Good to hear I’ve got to get one I lost reprinted . It’s for the rifle that I got 2 days before the rebate offer officially started but I figure I’ll send it in, worst case is it will get denied.

I’m curious as to why Brickseek is showing guns as being in stock at some of the Walmarts near me. However, upon visiting some of them, the employees tell me that all clearance rifles are sold out. Despite this and multiple days since having visited those Walmarts, Brickseek continues to show those guns as being in stock.

Before the prices dropped to sub-$100, I found that the Brickseek inventory was accurate. I am wondering if employees at those Walmarts are putting guns aside for family and friends to buy and telling customers they are out of stock?

More than likely a gun sale was started and on delay or subject to a waiting period. They don't take final payment and show it out of system until it's being picked up.

She actually could be coached up to and including termination for doing so. It is a violation of company policy. I could also price a 75" 4K TV for $.01 and call a buddy to come pick it up, but there'd be a chance I'd be looking for a job. Not worth it to me, apparently it was for her.

If so, they are risking their jobs.

The two guns that I bought on Sunday showed on the website. The area manager had no idea they were on clearance.
If they show on Brickseek ask for that model and chambering. They may have it.

Because the employee doesn't want to deal with it anymore when I went to get mine the guy said " no more left and thank gawd this is over". Could be brick seek is wrong, more likely they have it in the back and just don't want to say lol. Either way I'm done had to go five times to the store to get my 700 with all their rules and lack of managers on hand, don't want to set foot in a Walmart for a long time no matter what brick seek says they still have.

I have shopped at Walmart for over 40 years. That stopped the day I finally (3 tries) got my rifle. made a call to Corporate the first day it happened. Girl said she was kicking it up to management and they would call me back in a day at the most. Well over a week now and all I got was an email survey on how the girl did.

No Mas for me............they have nothing I cannot find elsewhere or on online

Ask for a specific gun NOT clearance guns. Some stores insist they don't clearance guns.
Get the item barcode from brickseek and have them scan it. That'll tell them if they have the rifle still. Employees are often clueless about what they do and don't actually have in the back

Score!!! Found a Remington 770 combo in 300 Win Mag the next state over,,, not far from where my brother works. I sent him to check and they told him they didn't have it so I sent him the barcode and had em go look. It was the last one and they had no idea they still had it. $54

Sent my other brother after a 7mm Rem Mag a couple weeks ago and they had it. But said somebody failed the background check for it so they had to hold it for 30 days....

I'm not getting it, or my area isn't working, or I'm computer illiterate... Keeps coming up "Not available online". I'm not trying to buy online. I'l drive to the store...

You do not go to the Walmart corporate websites, use one of the inventory search platforms like brickseek.com. instead.

You have to buy in store. You need to check for availability in your area.

Click on "check inventory", enter your zip code and it will show you if any are available near you.

About a 40 minute drive from me, there's a Walmart that according to Brickseek has a Savage Axis in 223 for $49. Trying to talk my father in law into picking it up for himself. He's pretty tapped out on purchases for the year, but dang $50 for a new rifle?

From what I have seen, the Savage Axes have all been snapped up because of the rebate. I hope you find what you're looking for. Thanks, Robbins290, I'll set a reminder for August 2021. I could use an 11-87.

I'll have to try to figure out a way to get ahead of the game for next year. I did manage to get one though... after visiting several walmarts to be told "sold out"... Scored a Remington 770 Youth model in .243 for $54.

Well, plus the $40 in fuel I wasted driving around... Still, not a bad deal for a brand new rifle with a scope. Budget gun, about on par with the Savage Axis from the look of it.

I went to my local store, they showed a Remington 700 in .243 for $99 and a Savage Axis in .243 for $49. Talked to the lady stocking sporting goods, and she said the person who can go through the guns in the back (apparently only certain people are trained/allowed) wasn't in but will be in tomorrow from 6AM-3:30PM. I asked her if she could at least check on the computer, the 700 showed up as 1 in stock and on the sales floor (but wasn't there) and the Axis showed up as in stock and in the back. I'm going to head over there after work tomorrow and see if I can catch the all important guy I missed today. I fanangled some more room in the safe so if I can I'll pick one of them up.

After I posted it got the best of me... And since it's HOT as Hell and I was waiting on a 9mm die I decided to ride 45 minutes to see if Walmart had either of the 2- 770's for $124. Had to wait about 10 minutes for a Sporting Goods person to appear. Checking the other Remington's in the case, no 770's period.
You couldn't pay me $124 to take a 770 in any caliber.
Every year I help our club raise money with their Hunting Rifle Sight-In Service. I have shot a number of 770's. Every one of them appeared to be throw-away rifles. Poorly made. Poorly fitted. Poorly designed. Crappiest of the plastic crappy stocks.
The 770 is such a lousy excuse for a rifle it makes the old RG14 I had as a kid look good and the RD14 shot itself loose with a single box of ammo. A body would be better served spending his $124 on cheap beer.

JMMHO, of course.
