My 8 year olds first deer. He's shot this rifle since last Christmas and has become pretty proficient with it. I knew if he could stay calm, tough for 8yr olds, he could put one in the freezer. The Remington Hog Hammer did it's job, the deer was quartering away when the shot was made. Entry through the back ribs and exit through the brisket, taking out the heart. I don't know who was more excited, me or him!

Yep, he's already planning hunts for squirrel and coyote. Hopefully he'll be a better fisherman than me. Then again, that wouldn't take much!
