    Lugerman is making very high quality 1907 trials Lugers even now (https://lugerman.com/luger-45/) but I cannot convince my wife $7900 for one is a good investment. Pity.

    That's a bargain! IIRC, the Lugers made 25-odd years ago were $15,000 apiece, and dollars were a bit bigger then.

    I wonder if it's a case of modern methods bringing prices down? Who knows, maybe in 25 years, we'll get those Merwin-Hulbert replicas after all.
