I have a Glock G29 10mm pistol. I bought a 40sw and an extended 10mm barrels for it. For months I've been eyeing the 9x25 Dillon barrel but I could not justify buying it. The monkey on my back really irked me so ok, I'm buying the barrel.

Now let me be.

It came in today and the Underwood ammo will be here Tues. The range trip will be next Sat or Sun so it's gonna be a long week. :(

Borrowing a pic from Gunblast.com I was curious since this one is new to me.
I am thinking .357 Sig is to 40 S&W as Dillon 9x25 is to 9mm Luger.
Interesting!

Is 9X25 brass hard to find? I haven't seen one of those since the 90s.

You mean 9x25 is to 10mm. 357sig is a necked down 40sw and 9x25 is a necked down 10mm. Underwood make their 9x25 brass from the 10mm brass.

Oh thanks, I thought the parent case was a 9mm.
That's quite a round there. Wonder why it's not called a 10x25 instead?

Wow, that is one powerful round. Lot more than the 357mag unless it's a Buffalo Bore 357mag and it's a match up. I had to order a stronger recoil spring to handle it. The recoil is pretty brutal.

Nice looking round with some impressive numbers! Kind of reminds me off the numbers Jeff Cooper was getting out of the 9mm. Magnum (or "Super Cooper"), with cut-down .223 brass and 125 gr. bullets.

That's probably the 9x30 Dillon there.

I'd be interested in seeing what the performance would be with 147gr bullets-or heavier if possible.

My springs from Wolff and my Uw 9x25 ammo came today. I installed the springs and it is stronger. Can't wait for the weekend at the range to try it. :p

FWIW, it is my understanding that the 9 Dillon was intended for use in compensated and ported race guns... the idea was to generate a huge amount of gas while throwing a 115 or 124 grain projectile at screaming velocities. All that gas becomes "fuel" for a comp/port system to drive the gun back down and pull it forward. Conversely, in a gun without a comp and ports, all that gas comes out the muzzle and drives the gun rearward.

Other than sheer self-abusive fun, it has no business in a non-race gun.

Be that as it may, remember "to each his own" still applies.

Like I said - "sheer self-abusive fun." If someone like it, that's cool with me!!

So I should've got the ported barrel?

All in fun though, I turn heads at the range. :D

I made this video for my friends on another forum. I found something interesting with the 9x25 cartridges. Something I can't do with the 10mm rounds. :p
