What 9mm handgun?

Of the 5 9mm pistol I own the CZ 75 is easily the most accurate. Was out yesterday with my CZ and at 50 ft hitting soda can size targets with hastily assembled 9mm reloads.

CZ75B is usually an easier gun to shoot accurately than the Beretta 92FS. Both are good guns. The decocker safety is a good feature on the Beretta, the need to thumb de-cock on many CZs is an issue for those who do not practice.
Personally, I would find the extra and buy the CZ75 SP01 Shadow, currently $880 from CZ Custom. The shadow has a great trigger, making it a good gun for range and gun games. It is an all steel gun, which helps with recoil. The rail means a light can be added if desired. I've owned multiple Berettas & 1911s. I've shot a number of CZs & HKs. the Shadow remains my favorite in bang for your buck accuracy.

A new HK P2000 would be in your budget, as would a variety of Beretta 92s. You wouldn't go wrong with either.

It doesnt meet your magazine criteria, but; I have got to throw in another vote for a BHP!
Im not a professional user, but Ive shot a lot of pistols over many years, and I always come back to the browning as my favorite for any occasion.
When in doubt, you've gotta try it out. For me at least, its the most naturally pointed pistol ever. Which IMO, is pretty important for SD.

Cz75 variants are the best valued, most accurate 9mm for under 800$. Might as well get a high polish cz75 and still have 20$ in the budget!

You can get 15rd mags for the BHP. What is more difficult is finding a new Browning BHP for under $800.00

Try out the Sig SP2022 if you can get your hands on one. IMO, a steal at around $400. I bought one off a buddy for $300 and I was skeptical, but it's turned out to be a real shooter. DA is a little heavy, but manageable...SA is sweet.

I imported a CZ75 (not a CZ75B) in 1982 and have yet to find a 9x19mm double stack I like better.

Personally I find the Barfetta 92 no where near the CZ75. Yes, I have run a course or two with the M92 and the Taurus 91 clone and they just don't blow my skirts up......but many folks obviously like them.

Whatever you decide, play with it a bit before you buy it, as in find a range with rentals. Barring that handle them and consider how the grips feel. Notice how your trigger finger sits on the trigger when gripped properly in both DA and SA trigger positions. If possible do several side by side.

I have seen CZ75bd models in my area for $550.00 plus tax. A real bargain IMO. You would still have about $200.00 for ammo if you decide on this one.

I'll play. $800? Sig SP2022, extra mags, and a Gunvault Nano Vault. And you would probably still have some $ left over for range ammo...

I'll admit I'm prejudiced to Sig and their DA/SA and decockers. I don't care for manual safeties to worry about. And if a round doesn't go bang, squeeze the trigger again.

With so many quality arms out there today, it would be hard to go wrong. As always, the best advice I could give you is to get to a range and test as many guns as you can. Holding it, dry firing it - it's a lot different to load up a full mag and get some range time.

Good luck and let us know your outcome!

So many great 9mms out there, from what I've owned....cz SP07/p07/po7 ext.barrel/cz shadow/Mossad/steyr c9a1/glock26/17/17l/fnsLS...with some research I decided to purchase the Grand Power pistol when first introduced in the U.S. Those I listed I have since sold, I have found the grand power line of pistols to my liking. Some review on the GP line

Cz p09

I love my polymer frame CZ P09. Very accurate out the box, reliable (1,000 rounds with not a single issue), with a very light recoil. In the US it is priced under $500.

Have had and shot many.
CZ75B as often mentioned above.

A couple off most people's radar:

Colt steel frame Commander 9mm. A dream to shoot, accurate to boot.
Sig SP 2022, All the Sig goodness at 1/2 the cost. Buy 2, I did.
