what ak-47 should i get and where?

hello,
well i think i am finally ready to get me a ak-47, just because i am afraid that after september they will become hard to get, but what do you experts recommend as to which one to get? romanian?sar1?sar2? i want to keep it $350.00 and under, also where is a good place to get then, and are any c&r eligible?

I bought one back in december that was an sar-1 which is chambered in 7.62x39. Ammo. is very cheap for the 7.62 but personally I wish I had went with 5.54x45. I seem to like the .223 round better than the 30 cal in the slower traveling bullets. Also the .223's are rather cheap ammo. as well. JMO

SAR 1 7.62x39. Reliable, affordable rifle. Also cheap ammo ($1.43 a box of 20) $6 to $10 range for hicap magazines. Hard to beat.

The SARs are the most popular AK variant.

SAR 1=7.62x39
SAR 2=5.45x39
SAR 3=.223 (5.56 NATO)

SAR 1 is all good, lots of ammo and mags.
I'm currently comtemplating between the 2 and 3. Both have about the same recoil, very controllable.
.223 is more prevalent that 5.45, but its harder to find .223 mags. Ammo for the 5.45 is only sold by Wolf, I think.

If you can't find a SAR-1 then get a WASR-10 Hi-Cap. Be careful you don't get the lo-cap variety.

Joy. Thanks for reminding me. I suppose I should starting thinking of wether to de-innacurize my Mini-14 or trade off for an AK.
