What are range fees where you live?

Nice Range maintained by the city is $2 per person for the whole day. Covered lanes, pistol, rifle, long range rifle, and shotgun.

Provo Utah. God bless a Republican majority state!

The range I'm a member of charges $75 a year. They have 5 poorly lit 25 yard handgun lanes with a ventilation system that barely works and one 100 rifle tube, all indoors and part of a big box sporting goods store. They are threatening to double the fee. They also charge walk-ins $10 and are threatening to double that. It may as well be $1000 a year as much as I get to shoot there. I haven't been able to get in since the election. First, it was because of heavy traffic by the average Joe, but now it's the fact that they are letting the concealed carry instructors monopolize the range as they see fit. When I first joined , they told me I could reserve a lane if I called ahead. They now have backed out of that. They also told me that they were not going to let concealed carry classes take over, but have since changed their minds about that, also. All in all it's not a good range anymore.

Oh, I forgot one thing.

You sign papers giving immunity to the range for anything that may happen TO YOU, and you assume responsibility for damage to building, lights etc. You also assume liability and responsibiltiy for getting others in the range hurt throught stupid mistakes or ... intent.

I was thinking back to childhood to a quarry with a mountain treeline (Actually a hill but it was a mountain for us in those days) and it's was all free and plenty of acreage to absorb all kinds of shooting.

The very best of times... ahhh... the memories.

Free too. Excepting ammuntion, guns, drinks etc.

Club memberships in Maine

run the gambit from $35/year to $150/year. I belong to the most expensive of these and, while I hate writing the check, am happy to pay it. Clubs these days need cash reserves for stuff other than improvements, like lawyers. The last club that I belonged to, for 15 years, had about 1/6th the facilities my new club has for for $25 less per year. We were always worried about money and the always impending lawsuit that may come.

Good lord, it makes me really happy that I have two ranges within 20 minutes of my house that are free, and reasonably well maintained by the conservation board. Now if they would only be maintained a bit better by the people that use them.

23 ranges that I know of in east Texas

1. Lock and load in Tyler. Something like $18 for a lane, 25 yard pistol and rifle (I think around 7 pistol and 5 rifle bays) In door, real nice target delivery system (Can be programed to turn the target sideways and move distance but was "dont mess with it, just run it out and back'".

2. Hwy 31 in Chandler $100 a year, non maned during the week, you get a key for the gate thing. 1 rifle bench at 25, 50, 75 and 200. About 5 rifle benches at 100. Separate pistol area with a few steel targets and 3-4 target holders.

There is a whole nother side to this range that is locked off for matches, several pistol pits and I hear a 500 yd line.

3. I dont know the name in Buffalo Texas. ranges from 25 to 200 yd all outdoor. $10 a day / $100 a year or $150 for family / friends./ Just dont bring like 30 people.

SE Massachusetts-

Bare-bones private range, $50/yr, no daily fee, no fee for occasional guests, regular guests are encouraged to join. No buildings, no shelter, no social events. No ninjas...anyone who misbehaves with a firearm is gone for good.

Every year you get a new key to the gate and then you're on your own, shooting hours 9-6, 365 days a year. You are required to belong to the NRA and the Mass Gun Owners Action League. Occasional work details on a volunteer basis.

CMP, NMC, Vintage Military Rifle, High Power Matches most weekends in the summer.

300 yd. (20 positions) 200 yd. (20 positions) 100 yd. (5 positions), and separate 50 yd. pistol range.

The club I belong to has a very nice indoor range and a tremendous outdoor. About $100/year with one time $100 fee for new or elapsed membership.

Another area club only has daily fees and I think its $20 all day with only a outdoor range.

Western Mass.

50.00 per year, 65.00 family. $2.00 outdoor ranges, $3.00 indoor. $5.00 for guests 50 yard, 100 yard, 200 yard, skeet/trap, archery(indoor and outdoor) Cowboy and indoor handgun.

Macon, Roberta, Warner Robins Georgia

1. Cool Springs Gun club located just south of Roberta just went up from $50 a year to $100 a year. Well worth it. Can shoot anytime. No full auto though.

2. Eagle Gun Range in Macon is $10 and hour and is indoors.

I pay $100 a year for a private outdoor range, an extra $10 for my son. It has nice facilities. It has a lot of mixed use ranges and a 200 yard service rifle range.

$10 a day, no annual membership 100yards max.
Miami FL

$7 a day, no annual membership, 200 yards max (CLOSED)
Homestead FL (someone filed a complain because of the noise)

Greenwood gun club, Brazoria TX

yearly dues of $75 (this is up from the $52 i paid my first two years), joining costs a pro-rated amount of the yearly dues (new members are added in through out the year), plus a one time "initiation fee" of $55 (think it's still 55) that goes into the land acquisition fund.

range has extensive rifle (100-600yrd available) and pistol areas, along with an archery area on the main property, and a seperately located shotgun range with Skeet, 5-stand adn two trap areas (including an area built to allow our 4H team to practice for Olympic style competition)

as far as i know were still the most affordable club with even close to the facilities level, within a reasonable drive of south houston.

i'm pretty sure that the only two places that come close to rivaling or surpassing the size and facilities of greenwood in the houston area are both for profit businesses (American Shooting Centers in SW houston, and the Carter's country range in Spring). and they charge quite a bit more.

If you shoot at the public ranges here, they are free or cost like $3/day for parking (national forest range). I mostly shoot at a range about an hour's drive from my house. My shooting time has been cut back due to ammunition availability and distance. But I'm trying to get a membership closer for about $100-$150/year. Indoor range charges about $150 or so close to where I live, but the ventilation is poor and I dropped my membership a couple of years back. I just didn't like the the fumes when there are a lot of shooters. It however is very close to my house (maybe 5 minute drive max).

You should shut up. You're getting a worldwide bargain.

Small club - 5 lanes - 25 yards.
$105.58 / year

NRA - Bisley - extensive military ranges - $113.12 / year + $30.16 for every half day session you shoot.

Here in CT, the average for public indoor ranges seems to be $25/hour, $250 - $500 for annual membership (and some places will still charge you range time).
Outdoor ranges, like Blue Trail, seem to be about the same.
Don't know what the private clubs charge.

$10/yr at the F.O.P. range 3 minutes from my front door.

Outdoor, 100 yard max with 7 benches. There isn't a separate pistol range.

If someone is down shooting pistol when you get there you have to wait until they are done to shoot at 100yds. First come, first served.

Usually, if someone shows up to shoot a little bit of pistol, the rifle shooters will take a break and let them do their thing. At least I will.

Range is off limits when:
LEO's have training/Quals. (Well, it is THEIR range!)
A picnic is scheduled.
Grounds maintenance is being done. (Usually on Mondays)

Closet

I'd pay 750 or more for the range you have, there isn't a 1000 yard range within 500 miles of here (except maybe in england, but i'd have to cross the channel)

I pay 250 a year for membership at 2 ranges. The outdoor one is a 45 minute drive, but becoming a member means I can go there when ever I want during daylight hours even have the combination for the gate for days they are closed to the general public, they even give me all the free targets, backstops and sandbags I need, I also get 4 free guest passes to use a year. The other range is a small indoor 25 yard range(only 5 minutes from my house though) and with my membership I still have to pay $10 bucks every time I go, plus pay for my target, I get 2 free guest passes as well. Nonmembers pay $20 for an hour.

MO Dept of Conservation

Henges Range run by the MDC - $3.00 an hour.
The hourly rate is good for a booth/station regardless of the number of shooters.

MDC has unmanned (free) ranges all over the state.

My membership is $75/year. We have an indoor 20 yard range, outdoor 100 yard pistol/rifle range, trap range and 2 archery ranges.

$340 per year. Outdoors 100, 50, 25 yeard rifle/pistol, skeet, trap and 5 stand. Except for open shoots, members only.

Last time I was at a private range, indoor it was $25/hour. Pistol only. I think most ranges around here are like that.
