What did you shoot today?

The .22 holes at the bottom was my son shooting his bolt single shot .22 at 100y and connecting consistently. He was mad for me busting his clay pigeons on the berm, so he was poking holes in my target with his 80 year old single shot with iron sights. He said he was trying to neuter my target. IMG_0883.jpeg

You shouldn't bust your son's clays 🤣
Nothing more fun than range time with kids.

He waffled a little a bit about going at first. I highlighted the fact that he would just probably sit around the house. He ended up shooting the majority of 100 rounds of cast .45 ACP ammo, 50rds 9MM ammo and over 100 rounds of .22.

He said he was glad he went.

This slender lady soldier in Lithuania🇱🇹 probably had little, to no trouble with the semi-auto recoil of the true military G3 version.
This is a repeat image. I like young, attractive chicks with guns. No apologies. These images might not exist "in the next world".

Sidenote: Years ago Lithuania joined NATO alone, when no neighboring countries belonged. Kind of lonely back then, on the 🇷🇺 Russian Baltic border—-

Shot my light Husqvarna 9.3X62 with my new "healthy" load with 286gr Hornadys. It clocks around 2,560 with no adverse pressure signs, and is spooky accurate, but what 9.3X62 isn't? Five rounds had me whimpering a little. It still has the factory plastic butt plate. 😬

I switched to my Ruger Am Predator 22-250, then to my new Mossberg 243. They were like a 22LR in comparison, and both are 1" or better rifles.

FAL. Mine is shinier, but generally looks like his (see link), and "The Siege of Jadotville" is a true story:scrutiny: (--quite a movie--). Netflix.
Many of the attackers actually were mercenaries: 🇫🇷 etc.

My rifle's front post needs to be thinned just a little more. The heavy trigger can not be improved (it's a "heavy-smooth"), except by practice.

:feet:Tip: check for serious burrs on the fwd. threads of the gas tube. Mistakenly-abused, or very worn threads on the forward end usually are the weakest link in a FAL.:scrutiny:

VZ-58, manufactured and assembled in the Czech Republic. 🇨🇿 All are striker-fired, with milled receivers.:scrutiny: The Czech "58" is Not a Century VZ-"2008".

At 5:05 Hickok45 demonstrates that it is a very different rifle than the "other rifle". The VZ-58 rifle is not a derivative of anything. While designing it the Czechs told the Russians to "buzz" off....

Shot my first match with my new build. Things went great, no failures of any kind and I had a blast. Had a devel of a time getting around all the torn up dirt on the range with my wheelchair but with the help of a few friends I managed to get out of the potholes I got stuck in.

For the first time out, I went for accuracy instead of speed. Now I know my sights are dead on and I can increase my speed a bit. I think that out of the entire match I only had to fire 6 or more shots 4 times and I never missed more than twice per string.

I flunked range pics, but my brother, my nephew, and myself shot this .45 today. Super accurate and smooth shooting pistol.

I'm tired of pretending to like my plastic 9mm pop guns.
Does kimber still make that with the melted edges?
I would carry that one.....I think 🤔

It was only a dream, but I was shooting into the side of a sauce pan and they were not going through, so it must have been a small caliber and/or LRN. I have no recollection of the gun, just shooting at the sauce pan. Seems it was in the basement. So I guess today I shot an imaginary gun, but it seemed oh so real at the time.

I think some ranges don't like the splatter and lead possibly coming back at the shooter.
The DNR range that I volunteered at in SC only allowed paper targets with wood framed target stands.
