No. Stuck a scope on the top, a mag in the bottom, and started shooting. It has run like a top.I read good and bad reports on the Ruger American series actions. Did you have to do any work on it? Nice looking rifle

I decided it was a 38 Spl day. Digging around in the safe I looked at a few different ones. Then I came upon a SW M10 which I have no recollection buying.
It's a heavy barrel 10-8, and looks like it's been through the mill a time or two. No idea when I got it, and I don't recall ever shooting it.
Today is the day. Target below is my final 24 rounds. 10 yards, standing, single action, 2 hands and my 7-decade eyes. Light wadcutter loads. 3" target circle.

I never claimed to be a good shot, just adequate.
The SP 101 in the pic came along too. It's one of the 38 Spl French Railroad Police trade-ins, with Trausch grips.
I figured as long as it was 38 Spl day, why not?
Just to clarify, the Ruger had nothing to do with that mediocre target - it was all me and the M10.
Tried out the .45 ACP Sig P220R I purchased last week. Ran great, good groups. Nice gun. Only problem was the Sellier and Bellot ammo would not fit in one of the magazines. Fine in the other one, but I had to struggle to get 6 in the one mag. I measured the two rounds I was using and by my crude caliper got OAL of 32mm for the one and the S&B was 32.3mm. I think specified OAL is 32.4 though, so must be the magazine is off a bit.
Nice looking setup. Looks like you are getting comfortable with it and getting it dialed in. Looks like it is on target. You are keeping everything where it should be. Have you carried it on a hike yet?I went out this morning with my Glock G20. Ran a box of 180 FMJ'S and 20 rounds of Underwood 180 hollow points through it.
I'm happy with the pistol and red dot that I mounted on it.
Did a few double taps, one hand, & weak hand shooting. I have some more work to do with getting back on target.

Well, when I arrived at the range, there was a bench rest Rimfire match going on, so no shooting for me today. Not what I shot today, but what I hope to shoot tomorrow.
My (not quite so) standard issue 10/22. I moved the red dot, so now I have to make sure it still works, right?

And my Hatsan 87. I just want to see what she'll actually do on the range.

I have not carried it hiking yet. I picked up a Forbus Right Handed paddle holster for it to use while hunting.Nice looking setup. I ordered a vedders iwb for mine. I am not impressed with it. The mag release protrusion was excessive and made wearing it uncomfortable. The customer service was non-existent in resolving the issue. It was manufactured to spec. I ended up heating and reforming it. Now I like but for the high price, I should not have been the one to fix the issue. I am a crossbred fan. I had a newer model for the sr1911 and it was not right. Worked with CB and eventually sent it back in exchange for a supertuck.I have not carried it hiking yet. I messaged @WrongHanded about his experience with the Safepackerholster. He likes his, so I'm plan on ordering a left handed one of them for hiking soon.
