What did you shoot today?

G45, G43X MOS frame with a PSA Micro Dagger assembled slide, and my Gucci Glock G17 Gen 5 MOS with a ZEV slide.

I am impressed with the PSA Micro dagger. I fully intend to get the Dagger Compact because it is my firm belief that PSA has cracked the Glock code to make a better G19 with a clone of one. I also plan to either get a G43X frame or a Micro dagger frame for the Micro slide.

Shot my 5.56 sbr with Fostech Echo II and mag dumped into trash. Then I shot my 1911 in 45 Auto a bunch and mag dumped into trash. Then I shot my CZ 457 22lr pro varmint with SilencerCo Sparrow suppressor and it's a hoot to shoot. Too bad I only have one 5rd mag and it's very hard to find more... Then past but not least I shot my Remington 870 12ga fully rifled barrel with 2-3/4 and 3in slugs. Man the slugs sure do kick a bit lol. Seems like the 3in ones had less recoil than I remember from the first time I shot them. They are the Federal 1-1/4oz 3in ones. Definitely something to save for angry hairy toothy things that want to eat me lol. I've got like 10 boxes.

I decided it was a 38 Spl day. Digging around in the safe I looked at a few different ones. Then I came upon a SW M10 which I have no recollection buying.

It's a heavy barrel 10-8, and looks like it's been through the mill a time or two. No idea when I got it, and I don't recall ever shooting it.

Today is the day. Target below is my final 24 rounds. 10 yards, standing, single action, 2 hands and my 7-decade eyes. Light wadcutter loads. 3" target circle.

I never claimed to be a good shot, just adequate.

The SP 101 in the pic came along too. It's one of the 38 Spl French Railroad Police trade-ins, with Trausch grips.
I figured as long as it was 38 Spl day, why not?

Just to clarify, the Ruger had nothing to do with that mediocre target - it was all me and the M10.

Got to the range with my newly rechambered .260 Ackley Improved. Gun started out as a Defensive Edge custom built on a Remington 700 in .260 Rem. 26-inch 8.5 twist Hart barrel with DE brake, HS Precision stock with cheek riser, tuned factory trigger. I just got it back from Tumbleweeds, who set the barrel back and rechambered it in .260 Ackley. Had them skim bed it while it was in the shop. Wyatt bottom metal, Vortex Viper PST Gen II 5-25x50 in Warne rings on a 20 moa rail.

I was shooting some fire forming loads: Lapua brass, CCI #200 primers, 40.6 grains of RL16 under 142 grain SMKs. Unfortunately, I forgot the battery pack for my Labradar so didn't get an average velocity. I'll do that next time out as I still have a few more rounds to go. Pretty happy with the way it shot all the same. After sighting in and hitting some steel at 200, I shot the five 5-shot groups below at 100. Not too shabby for a thrown-together load shot from a bipod. And now I have 65 fire-formed cases to work with.

Happy 4th of July!

After shooting my Glock 19 for the first time in years last week with a new recoil spring, and shooting it well, I decided today was Glock day. Took my 19 and my 20.

Man I can shoot a Glock. Love them. Hate them. Whatever. They are so shootable.

I did have my third malfunction on my 20, a FTF on the last round. I have put about 300 rounds through it since I got it a couple of years ago and that's the third one. Just enough for me not to trust it. It is probably a magazine. It may be the cheap Blazer ammo. I have two different barrels and it has happened with both so.... I don't know and don't really care enough to worry about it. It is a range gun and a fun one. If I ever needed to use it for anything outside the range I would tune it up a bit and buy some HSTs or Gold dots. But I doubt I ever do that.

I give up on my Kahr K9. I have put 1000 rounds through it and still can't hit $%^& with it past 15 yards. After 40 or so rounds today with three different flavors I put it up. Not waisting any more ammo on that gun.

Also, I have a Kahr K9 for sale if anyone is interested. In 1,000 rounds it has never failed to go bang.

I am glad I am not the only one that doesn't remember where a gun came from. I consider that a badge of honor.

Tried out the .45 ACP Sig P220R I purchased last week. Ran great, good groups. Nice gun. Only problem was the Sellier and Bellot ammo would not fit in one of the magazines. Fine in the other one, but I had to struggle to get 6 in the one mag. I measured the two rounds I was using and by my crude caliper got OAL of 32mm for the one and the S&B was 32.3mm. I think specified OAL is 32.4 though, so must be the magazine is off a bit.

My wife and I hit the range before lunch. I needed to function test some 5.56 NATO reloads and plink 22LR. I also brought the 10mm Auto for some parting shots at the end of trip. Surprisingly, my wife asked to shoot the 10mm! I gave her a rundown of the 1911 platform, and she chucked those rocks on target at 5 yards. She had a blast. It was her first time shooting the best cartridge created or anything bigger than a 9mm. Today was a good range day.

I have fed five different rounds in my 220. Norma FMJ, WWB FMJ, WWB JHP, Speer Gold Dot +p, and Federal HSTs. All 230gr. The Norma ammunition wouldn't fit in my magazines and the Speer was a little harder to load though it did and fed fine. Not sure what that is about, but glad I am not the only one that has run into this. Norma and S&B are both European imports so maybe that's the connection??? I don't know.

Fun day, shot 60 rounds through my Ruger mpr 5.56 and another 150 rounds of 22lr using my CMMG adapter. Also 60 rounds of 5.56 through my new .223 wylde PSA AR along with another 150 rounds of 22lr also using the CMMG adapter. Then I finished with 40 more 22lr from my Savage model 64 precision. Mostly shooting steel from 50-100 yards.

I went out this morning with my Glock G20. Ran a box of 180 FMJ'S and 20 rounds of Underwood 180 hollow points through it.
I'm happy with the pistol and red dot that I mounted on it.
Did a few double taps, one hand, & weak hand shooting. I have some more work to do with getting back on target.

Nice looking setup. Looks like you are getting comfortable with it and getting it dialed in. Looks like it is on target. You are keeping everything where it should be. Have you carried it on a hike yet?

Not what I shot today, but what I hope to shoot tomorrow.

My (not quite so) standard issue 10/22. I moved the red dot, so now I have to make sure it still works, right? ;)

And my Hatsan 87. I just want to see what she'll actually do on the range.

Well, when I arrived at the range, there was a bench rest Rimfire match going on, so no shooting for me today.

I have not carried it hiking yet. I picked up a Forbus Right Handed paddle holster for it to use while hunting.
I messaged @WrongHanded about his experience with the Safepackerholster. He likes his, so I'm plan on ordering a left handed one of them for hiking soon.

I ordered a vedders iwb for mine. I am not impressed with it. The mag release protrusion was excessive and made wearing it uncomfortable. The customer service was non-existent in resolving the issue. It was manufactured to spec. I ended up heating and reforming it. Now I like but for the high price, I should not have been the one to fix the issue. I am a crossbred fan. I had a newer model for the sr1911 and it was not right. Worked with CB and eventually sent it back in exchange for a supertuck.
