Slohand, welcome to THR. May your stay here be long & informative.

Beware: this is an addictive forum filled with great people. The mods keep it sane.

ConserVet, I can't even imagine what you must experience every day.

I know little of prison existence (fortunately). But I know enough to know that it seems like an incredibly dangerous place to be, even as one of the correction officers, let alone an inmate.

Any tales to tell?

Nemo,

Thanks for your support. Those empty holes on the shelves will have to be filled.......And I'm just the guy to do it !!! :D

Oh, and the car part:

Me: 2001 Saab 9-3 with 83k on the clock. Looks and drives like it's only a year old.

Mrs Scout: 2000 Saab 9-5 Wagon 56k on the clock. She mostly hauls the kids around, so we refer to it as "The Pigmobile".

Been driving Saab's since I bought our first one in Germany in 1988. I'm the only person who goes hunting, not with a truck, but a hatchback. The guys at deer camp just shake their heads when they see me come bounding up the hill with a deer in the back of my car. :p

I investigate vote fraud and electronic voting issues for Black Box Voting Inc, a non-profit 501c(3). My boss is Bev Harris, author of "Black Box Voting - Ballot Tampering In The 21st Century" and the origin of the name of our org and website.

http://blackboxvoting.org

Been at this for four months full time now and am loving it. I was a volunteer first working with Bev in mid-2003 and founding member of the board of directors in 2004. I resigned from the board to join paid staff four months ago.

In 2003 Bev and I filed a lawsuit against Diebold Election Systems Inc. seeking to get the state of California a refund on bad voting gear. Due to the actions of California attorney general Lockyer the settlement amount was cut way down, however the state still for $2.6mil. Bev and I were awarded a whistleblower fee each (paid by Diebold) of $76k in 2005.

Hi all
I'm new here. I've been checking this site for awhile and decided to join and participate.
I am the executive director of a non-profit(501C3) organization. I run a wildlife rehabilitation facility. I am a licensed wildlife rehabilitator and a wildlife control operator. I've been doing this since 1991.
Before that I spent about 25 years as a professional musician--drummer.
I'm not rich but I'm happy and I earn enough to keep a good supply of food, beer and guns--you know--the essentials.

Unemployed for years.

I use to work on overseas defense contracts repairing Army tanks and police boats. It payes well, especially when you don't have any income tax or cost of living. The 1 month pay bonuses and 5 weeks of payed vacation plus plane tickets are also great.

I own my home and payed for it the day I bought it. I have no debt at all and have money invested. Now the wife has a good job that provides medical insurance for free and I stay home and raise our daughter. The wife came from overseas also and wants to work on her career.

I can't take jobs in the U.S. seriously anymore. After working overseas, its like going from being a world traveller with money to spend on whatever I want to being a slave and watching your hard earned money just disappear to the tax and bill collector. I literally got payed in my sleep overseas. Try that in the U.S. and see what happens.

Thanks moondoggie
YEA--working with wildlife is a blast. Different stuff everyday and it keeps you on your toes. Have to always be ready for anything that happens. Never gets boring but I do put in a lot of hours. Feels good though and keeps me out of trouble(most of the time-lol)
