What do you carry?

Ah... what exactly are you planning on doing? I trust it's not stabbing the downed person in the neck to finish them off so they can't sue you? Otherwise I can't see how the "darts" are going to be of any real help to you. They're goofy little mall ninja spikes and are rendered completely moot if you're carrying a real firearm.

I think the solution is to get a better firearm for carrying on hot days. There are many options, more than you may realize. Do some thread searches. In fact I suspect some other Texicans have been able to conceal USP size firearms. Take the gun, leave the spikes.

No, I wouldn't stab them when they're downed.

But the chances are, if he was downed by the .22, I probably hit something really important.

Other than that, at the statistical distance where gunfights take place, I don't want to be limited completely to ranged weapons. I could empty that .22 into a large man's torso and not slow him down. He may die LATER, but he could still do me serious harm beforehand.

I also might not be able to unfold the mini-revolver before he's close enough to attack, even unarmed.

I may miss my shot with either the 9mm or the .45, and not have time for another one if the attacker's charging at me. That's one reason I chose sleeve sheaths for the darts. I can draw one using my left hand from a firing stance very easily. These darts are remarkably un-useful, except for stabbing people, but they're very cheap, and I consider them disposable. They also leave very large wounds, where .22s do not.

This doesn't REALLY enter my mind as far as practical self defense goes, but I'd suppose it's also much safer for my hearing. Firing that .45, at the very least, at a target, at a range where I could use the Delta Dart... that situation probably means I didn't have time to put in earplugs. And thinking about firing on someone while grappling, makes me think of how close that discharging weapon may be to my ear.

Would I shoot? Of course I would. But if I had the chance to stab, I would also.

When not on duty, I carry a big padlock in a reinforced nylon keystrap. I know that my weapons stopping power is a little weak, but its better than nothing.

When I am on duty, I open carry a rheinmetall MG3 chambered in 7.62x51mm NATO.

One swede ( I almost took you for a swede, instead of danish guy) has started to carry a big&heavy nut at the end of a string, after he got jumped on. Half a brick in the sock can be really effective manstopper, as the saying goes.

I haven't got the chance to open-carry a MG3, but I have open carried an AK4 or M14, occasionally, in the center-city. Plus those couple of times when I had Galil SN slung over the shoulder, or the Ironsaw kone (M/45 SMG). Pistol is so ordinary that i wouldn't bring it out as something special.

Hey Ninja, how long a belt you carry with the MG3? a 50rnd drum?

I usually carry a few 100 round belts, depending on the setup. My MG is not fitted for drums, and as Ive heard too many stories about drums causing FTFs, I think that I´ll stick to belts.

How did you figure out where I was from? Did you dig for old posts?

Southern Scandinavia almost screamed Sweden, but it said "southern" and swedes don't use the MG3 as I recall. Denmark does.

When we had the "Bronze night" some fellows took the heavy duty rubber tube and cut a length from it, a poor man's rubber baton, especially if to add a steel ball inside. Could work, even in socialist hell.

Ruger LCP in a Galco pocket holster. Have it on me anytime I leave my house ever since I got it. Amazing how much weight effects if I carry or not. I been a cop for 16 yrs and went a good 10 yrs not carrying because its just to damn uncomfortable. As soon as I started playing around w/ the lighter weight guns on the market I found my gun is like my house keys, always with me when I leave the house. The LCP is the best so far for me, .380 is a bit on the weak side, but a .380 in the hand beats the .45 in my nightstand.

I see some of you guys carry more than most plainclothes cops carry (I was plainclothes 1/2 of my career), to each his own.

Now if Ruger would only steal the Kel-Tec PF9 desgin and "Ruger-ize" it like they did with the LCP, I would be buying a new gun

When not in school, a folding knife of some sort. I'm not trained in knife fighting, but anything I can use as a force multiplier I will use as a force multiplier.
At school, a fairly heavy backpack.
Oh, and a 6'7", 225 lb American. I carry that EVERYWHERE I go. I'm no martial artist, but I can punch, kick, and jab well enough.
I can't carry a gun. Why? Simple. I also can't vote, or even drive yet. I'm fourteen. What are you gonna do?
If you can use a Delta Dart, more power to you. Whatever floats your bloat, and keeps you alive.

Maybe this. I just bought it today, so it needs breaking in
Ruger SP101

I really like the feel of this one.

Michigan's MCPL laws make the decision easy: pistols and/or revolvers only. No darts, no knives for defense...handguns only. I carry either Glocks or Colts.

Depends.

Yesterday it was a 12 oz bottle of water and Papermate Round Stick ink pen
I did "top off" the water, but I did not the pen as it did not have a cap.

Day before it was a Styrofoam cup of black coffee, two rolled up free "Apt hunting guides" and Bic Crystal ink pen.
One has to be careful "racking" a cup of coffee, but I had to learn on my own as I have never been to a known "coffee school" , I did top off my ink pen as it did have a cap.

Today since I will not be around metal detectors, wands, dawgs, subject to personal search or vehicle search.
Just a simple Case Peanut, yellow handle, CV blades, and a 9mm semi auto that I do not top off the mags in.
Bic Crystal ink pen.

I might add a 20oz Dr.Pepper , most likely will...

As I read Ohio's concealed carry law, it's the same. My permit is: "Ohio License to Carry a Concealed Handgun".....not for concealed knives, darts, pointed sticks, etc. Coffee cups and rolled newspapers are legal for open carry :)

When I complete my CCW (hopefully in a few weeks) it'll be a Bersa .380. Until then, I never leave home without my trusty Buck tactical knife clipped to my pants pocket. It just makes me feel safer to have it on me.

Usually an XD-40 Service or XD-40 Subcompact carried in a Fist belt-slide, Blade-Tech Sting Ray or CrossBreed SuperTuck. I usually carry one spare magazine in a Fist magazine pouch or two spare magazines in an XD double magazine pouch.

Sometimes Kahr P9 Covert carried in a Galco Pocket Protector or High Noon Spit-Decision IWB. I usually carry a spare magazine in my front left pocket.

I also carry a Benchmade Apparition folder clipped in my front right pocket. At night, I usually carry a SureFire 6P LED in a belt holster (Blade-Tech or Fist) or in my front left pocket.

CZ P-01 IWB in a C-TAC, Kahr MK9 IWB in a C-TAC or pocket carried in a Nemesis, or a Kel-Tec P3AT pocket carried in a SuperFly. I carry 1 spare mag for the P-01, or 2 spares for the other MK9/P3AT.
