What do you guys think of my setup?- Comments/ Critiques

Walter, I like your setup purely as a build, but it depends on what you're using it for.

I you're doing a lot of mid-range varmint work shot mostly from prone with little sense of urgency, you're all set. But if you're planning on any CQB at all you've got way too much weight, and I think you'll figure that out the first attempt.

If CQB, dump some weight. Lighter flashlight is great. Get rid of that bipod. It's heavy and useless up close.
The eotech setup is great, though. I have one on my ACR (which has it's own weight issues), but the great thing about that optic setup is that if you need it quick, you've got the magnifier; but if you don't and you've got time to stage up for strictly CQB work, you can quickly detach the 4x. The new magnifier mount on the 2nd gen. 3G mangier is even better because the throw lever detaches the mount and the optic.

Everything else looks great. The important thing is that you're comfortable with it. Like with my ACR- everyone told me that it's so heavy (and it is), but the comfort level and ergos makes it worth while for now. It makes me feel the same way I do with my favorite pistol - IT JUST FITS ME. I'm working to improve it with a lighter flashlight setup, a lighter muzzle brake, and maybe a new shorter Eotech HWS. eventually, a pencil or short barrel too once they're available.

Have fun with the new toy, and don't forget to put some wear on it. There should be no such thing as a show gun.

Nice thing about the AR platform is that it's so customizable. Your set up seems to suit your purpose too. MY problem with ARs is "accessory overload" LOL!!

I just can't make up my mind re optics, etc. So I still have irons. I go to the range and I'm an anachronism... :D

I like it. Weight would be helped by only installing the bipod when you're using it, of course. I like the Eotech/magnifier combo. As others have mentioned, the Surefire lights are great (and far lighter than what you're using), and I strongly prefer LED's over incandescent for battery life reasons.

Good job going with the BCM upper; they make good stuff.

there are very, very few situations where a bipod on an AR15 carbine can do something substantially better than using the magazine as a mono-pod.

i used a magnifier for a while and then got rid of it. just wasn't worth it.

flashlights are good. lighter ones are better than heavier ones.

Good Lord in the morning.

All those doohickies make it way too complicated and clumsy looking for me.

Like the man said, if you like it that's all that matters. To me, seriously, these sorts of rifles look a bit silly.

This is what mine looks like. Utter simplicity. Not even a forward assist. Still manages to do what I need an AR to do. I just can't get into the tacticool.
