What do YOU want the Glock 40 to be...?

Vernon's Homemade Ear Piercing Kit:
A thumbtack
A Whole Mess of Paper Towels
2 Aspirin

I'll Make Millions!
Actually Vernon (my father)'s kit was much simpler. When we lived in Peru in the early '50s, my mother wanted pierced ears. My dad kept telling her he could do it -- he'd pierced hundreds of ears. And Dad had lived all over the world and done many strage things.

They had some friends over for drinks, and Mom mentioned getting her ears pierced, and Dad said he'd do it right then and there. Mom had apparently had one too many and said, "Well, hell, Woody (which what she called him) go ahead."

This was just after Thanksgiving, and Dad had cooked the turkey. He had a huge needle that he had used to sew the turkey up. He took the cork from the whiskey bottle, held it behind her ear, and ran that needle through the lobe.

She screamed like she'd been killed, and the next day went to a doctor to get the other ear pierced.

Guess which ear got infected?:p

Something that looks totally different. Glocks work fine and have minimum moving parts and all that. But damn they are the ugliest guns I have ever seen.
Never seen a Hi-Point, huh? Or a Lorcin? Or an XD?

*runs for the hills* :D

The Glock G40 should be a .22LR the exact size of the G19. It should come with really good adjustable sights and have a factory option of mounting an optic. Magazines should be high capacity. Given the space in the magazine well the magazine could be made like the mags for the old Ram-Line Exactor. they held 20 rounds.

If they made a pistol like this they would sell a boat load. I'd buy a couple.

A revolver, obviously. Just so everyone can say the phrase "Glock 40 revolver" with a straight face.

I'm with those who suggest a 9mm or 40 single stack, something along the same dimensions as a Walther PPS...but Glock...:p

I just never understood why their motto is "Perfection" and they are up to the 40th model... if the first one was perfect then they would only need one... Perfection... yeah.

I'd like a tactical length .45 ACP along the lines of their G34/35. I want a 5 plus inch barrel .45 ACP with an optional threaded barrel.

While Glock is at it, How about changing the frame a bit? A little more re-enforcement by the magwell and at the front of the slide would be nice. That should solve any problems with mounted lights permanently and improve an already tough receiver.

I'd like to see a different recoil rod too. I am not crazy about a plastic recoil rod.

For the .45 ACP and 10 mm guns, do something about the handgrips. Round off just a hair on the checkering. My G21 feels 10 times sharper than My G36 or even my old G32 and G17. Sure I can lightly sand it off and no one can tell but I should not have to in the first place.

Put a Plug in everyone of them too.

That should wrap it up for me.

I'm with M'bogo on this one.

Make it a dedicated .22LR platform that'll hold as many .22LR cartridges as will fit in the internal dimensions of the double column magazine found in the fullsize (17), midsize (19) and compact (26) models.

New Fullsize .22: Model 40
New Midsize .22: Model 41
New Compact .22: Model 42

There.

I have done all the "hard work". Now, all Glock has to do is modify the design, manufacture and market these new models to the shooting public. Shouldn't be long now.....

:)

I'll have to go with the trend and say something in .22lr. I'm kind of curious as to why they don't have a model in this caliber .

I may be wrong but I think a .22 will not have enough "points" to be imported into the country. Glock has two models in .380 that are not importable since they do not have enough "points." I forgot how the points work but caliber is one of them.

Kino74,

If they made the frames here (as they already do) the GCA68 "importation points system" would no longer pose an obstacle to such a gun (.22).

Of course, this all academic...

I really think Glock needs to do a complete redesign of their gun's ergonomics. They were fine for the first 20 years, but with stuff like the P99, M&P, XD, P2000, P30, HK45.......and the list goes on. That same damn grip is really just lame compared to the competition. I like Glock's just fine but, I think they've been lazy enough for quite awhile that they should actually put some effort into improving on ergonomics.

While I personally like the grip angle, i think they should be bringing out new "generation" Glocks (we are at 3 right now, right?) with adjustable grip sizes. That's more important than a new model "40" imo.

But if they do, a good .22 in the same format as their centerfire models (as did SIG and Walther, only Glock should do it better ;)) would be nice.
