I finally shot my new CZ 75 Compact today. Fantastic gun! Very accurate, as it's reputation claims, though my first mag through any new gun is a always a throw away. :) Completely reliable, too, but I didn't get a chance to shoot a whole lot today.

I really prefer the tactile feel of my CZ 40P, though - both when shooting and holding - so I'm figuring a set of rubber grips are in line for the compact, too.

But I thought I'd check with the CZ owners here to see what they like. Does anyone else not care so much for the hard grips, like me? Any other suggestions? Thanks, CZ owners.

If you want rubber grips, get a set of CZ rubber grips.

I have a PCR and a P01 and they both wear VZ grips.

Sticking with the rubbers on my PCR.
That gun doesn't wander at all in my hand & the checkering isn't abrasive as it sometimes can be with wood.

I have wood on my compact PCR, but I'd really consider a nice set of VZ Grips if you have the cash. I wanted some VZ compact grips in the Frag pattern long ago, but they weren't being made at the time for CZ Compacts so I went with wood.

I hated the stock grips. I don't think you can beat VZ grips if you can afford them. Easily the best upgrade I've ever made on a handgun.

I've got the CZ rubber grips on both my PCR, and 75B, and like them a lot. I have carried the PCR almost daily for 13 years, and have not experienced the rubber grips "grabbing" on clothing that others talk about, nor impairing my ability to draw the firearm.

Thanks for the input, everyone. I'm still leaning towards the rubber grips.

However, those VZ grips...are they a softer material or hard? I really don't like the hardness of the stock grips, either on my compact or my CZ75bd Police.

We have CZ checkered cocobolo grips both in ours CZ 75B Stainless and CZ P-01. I also recommend a set of Hogue screws, the factory ones suck.

The VZ grips are great. The are a harder material, but they are much slimmer than the stock plastic grips, and they provide more grip, especially when your hand gets a little sweaty. I like the frag pattern because they provide just the right amount of grip, without being too rough or aggressive that they will shred your clothing or skin.

I went with wood semi-checker grips from CZ custom but I do like CZ rubber grips as well. The original plastic ones are horrible.

I've got the half checkered wood from the CZ custom shop on my CZ 75 compact right now, but the thin aluminums, also from the custom shop, really thin the gun down for carry.

Mine is a different compact, a PCR, but they take the same grips.

(This is an older photo, before I put night sights on it.)

These are CZ accessory cocobolo wood with stainless screws. It came with rubber grips, and I could have lived with those if they didn't have a palm swell.
