What (gun related things) did you do to pass the time for the blizzard of 2011?

Well, it will involve getting up and driving to work.

Both my wife and I work at a Hospital and even though neither of us have clinical jobs we support the folks who see the patients so we like to be there.

Sucks too... I have all of the parts to do my conversion on my Saiga 223, and a new Lee Classic Turret I would like to setup!

Other than taking pictures of all of the snow drifts and praying my power stays on, I am am on THR and a few other sites living in a virtual world where there is no Snow-ma-geddon!

My guns are all clean, and my motorcycle is in winter storage. Its not going to stop snowing until 3pm today so I wont start clearing until this afternoon. What to do, what to do?

Rinse and Repeat

No snow here in VA just ice and then rain on top of the 5inches of snow left from alst weeks storm. I was working had to check ewes who havent lambed yet and the ewes with lambs. Weather did break about noon or so and it was just mud, snow and more mud. Worked from 6am to about 530pm. Had some Newman pretzels for lunch was to busy to come in. Spent the last 90 minutes hosing off my ATV, cleaning and drying my Winchester and Sig, and finally hosing off the dogs so they could come in the hose. Nice warm heated water huge shower stall so we can all enjoy the fun. Professional grooming blow dryers to dry them. They were a nice shade of mud gray from tip of their noses to the tip of their tales. Remember Lassie and his dye job in the John Wayne movie. Solar hot water heater did its job.

I am sure HSUS and PETA would claim my dogs were traumatized by showering with me. We were all in our birthday suits.

The I fixed dinner for them ie their kibble, some rice, cheese, and yogurt.
Also fixed dinner for my girlfriend and I. Small scoop of homemade vanilla ice cream for them made. Cornish game hens in the wood fired
oven, roasted veggies rice and wine. And then a nice single malt scotch, the hot tub and then bed. Up at 415am and checked flock already. Several new lambs all doing well, muddy human, and muddy dogs. We will probably repeat
it all again today.

Now have to download info from Ipad to Imac regarding lmabs and their mothers. Singles, twins or triplets. Lucky so far no bad mothers. We dont do
bottle feeding etc.

not so much blizzard but.....

Get ahead of accumulation, come inside and rest, de-ice the car, come inside and rest, put my foot in my mouth on "High Road", back outside for penance and weather induced torture, come back inside and rest again, rotten-%#*&!* cycle of misery and hardship, come back inside and rest, ect. ... ect. .... :cuss:

No way that my all-wheel drive could even get me out of the driveway right now. I guess I am spending the blizzard sitting at my computer screen reading posts on THR.

Ohio is just ice and wind this morning, But the flying ice melting off the tree's in high wind was hard to fall asleep too.

Gun stuff:
I did an ammo inventory on my meager collection as i try and keep 2 months worth on hand and placed a nice order to SGammo.com and i pray UPS doesn't shut a lot of stuff down.

I'm at work, but since schools are closed and many people with kids are "working" from home, I'll probably be busier than usual.

Yesterday, I went to work and came home. Today I went to work. I plan to go home later.

Went to work yesterday and did a few service calls. It really started coming down last night, though. Boss called off work today. Good thing, there's a 4' drift in front of the truck. I'm wishing I had stopped in town yesterday and bought some more bullets. Got plenty of primers and powder, but I'm running low on lead. :( Now I gotta shovel and figure out what else to do.

Here in Virginia Beach, I am not kidding you, but for some reason today it is 70+ degrees. This weather around here is just plain weird sometimes. If I were hypothetically stuck due to this storm, I would get some loading done and work a little bit on the storage in my garage to open up some more room like I have been during the other snowstorms we have had.

I'm going to learn how to detail strip a S&W 4006.

I picked it up earlier this week, field stripped it, shot it, loved it. Great gun.

Now I just want to see how dirty it is in every nook and cranny.

I thought about doing some cleaning or maintenance, but instead I got out a piece of plywood, stapled cardboard to it, stuck on a Shoot n See, and propped it up about 20' from a sliding door. Then I loaded up my trusty Crosman air rifle and proceeded to plink away. What a blast!

I have been off of work for 2 days- First day, blew out the driveway, made French Toast for wife and kiddies, messed around online, watched the weather, processed .223 cases, cleaned some guns. Man, I wish I could get to the range.

Today, blew out the driveway. Made waffles for breakfast, boiled eggs for egg salad, cooked ground beef for stroganoff. Told my wife the, "What do you call a bull who is...." well you know-for the 5th time. I tell it for my own amusement now. She says it is a good thing I teach Junior High school because I never matured beyond the 7th grade:neener:

I really wanted to go to the CMP North store, but we are under a level 3 and they are closed anyway.

What GUN RELATED things did you do during the blizzard? Try to have a little gun related content for this fun one please :)

I cleaned up the reloading area. Had several misc. piles of empty brass that needed to be dealt with. Everything is loaded now and my little loading area is organized and clean.

When I win the lottery I'm gonna build an indoor shooting area so I can chronograph loads when it's cold.
