I found out that I'm eligable for a LE discount now and want to add another gun to the collection on account of my birthday. I already have a glock .40, 1911, bersa, revolvers ect.

I have narrowed my choices down to the following:

Tactical Shotgun?
Glock 19
Glock 26
Glock 23
Glock 27
Ruger LCP
or
LOTS OF AMMO if they have any????

If I go with a gun I don't really know what I'll use it for, it will probably be an all purpose gun.

Why would you bother asking us? Get the gun that best fits your wants, your needs, your desires, your collection ... no need to ask the uninformed mob.

I'm going to suggest you get a glock if you get a pistol, since it seems that you quite like those (4 out of 6 of your choices? hehe). Don't know enough about them to help you.

A tactical shotgun with a pistol grip and telescoping stock would be really awesome. And as for the ammo? I'd certainly stock up while you can. That actually might be my first choice.

I will second the Glock 19. Being from AZ, Scottsdale Gun Club makes it easy. DL and whatever credential you are using. The Glock 19 would be $424 and change after tax and includes three mags.

If you like your Glock 40, you should be pretty happy with the 19. Keep in mind, if you are eligible for the Glock LE discount you can also get S&W at the LE price.

I only have a few pistols in my collection, rifles are where my heart is.

How about a Glock 20 though? 10mm's are pretty cool, still not enough for hunting for my tastes but there're tons of fun....

Get a Glock 7. It's a ceramic gun that doesn't show up on airport X-rays and costs more than all of us make in a month! ;-)

(I'd go with the 19. You can't beat its all-around talent!)

When all hell breaks loose, and society looses all cohesion, I'll be packing my tactical shotgun. No other firearm in my arsenal can be as useful as a shotgun in so many situations.

Another vote for a Remmie 870. There's just something about the sound of it being racked that'll make your hair stand on end. That and it's a total blast to shoot. If you don't want to go after any sporting clay options then go for a shorter barrelled magnum capable police model and try a few magnum slugs. That'll make you smile.... :D

Do you take part in any of the shooting sports? Clays of any sort? Cowboy action shooting? IPSC? IDPA? Other local events?

All purpose is shotgun!!! I also agree with rbernie, it's extremely hard to go wrong with the Rem 870. I got mine several years ago (police magnum) and I have shot trap, hunted with it, and use it for HD. There are a lot of accessories out there to choose from. You can get a synthetic stock, wood stock, magazine tube extensions, different barrel lengths, scope mounts on barrels, etc........

You can shoot slugs, sabots, the ol' punkin ball, buckshot, rabbit/bird shot, and even get non lethal (don't start about these can kill, I know, but for argument sake they are sold as non-lethal) bean bags.

Can't get much more 'all purpose' than that!!;)

Reminded my of the time one of our old timers said: "WSHTF I'll just use my AR-15 with Eotech on the guy with the shotgun, now I gots both."

My 870 seems useless now that I know 'bout rifles. The new 870 tacticle express with the flatop rail deos look nice though........and the beanbag rounds are called "less lethal" now.
