What have you done in the reloading room today

That’s why I don’t drink it. I drink bottled spring water which of course could be dipped from a collection pond at a PA strip mine.

sometimes............................ignorance really is bliss.................

Well, I test water for a living... so I'm sort of biased.

Bottled water is usually treated by reverse osmosis... it'll say on the bottle. It's better than tap water, but it's expensive in the long run.

Ok today I got a physical copy of the Sierra reloading manual and a Hornady #16 shell holder for using with my trimmer so I can trim 5.56 brass now.

Their app is kinda dumb lol so Ive been looking for a paper copy. It was $34.99 at academy.

I don’t buy the spring water whose bottle reveals “reverse osmosis.”
Instead, I buy the spring water that conceals how it’s processed.

Just checked and mine says the names of the springs and then processed by Ozonation. So not full concealment.

Now, tell me the bad news about my so called spring water:)

Also got the RCBS small and large crimp remover tools along with my Glock 21 suppressor height night sights for shooting my reloaded 45 Auto ammo better hopefully lol.

Whoo-hooo!!! Mail lady dropped off the 2 Medium flat-rate boxes of spent brass my loving bride sent me.... prolly about 30# of brass that we shot up out in NV.

Sorted it all out... very easily because it was only 6 different types of brass... 5.56mm, 7.62mm, .30-06 (M1,) .348WCF, and 9mm, and .45ACP brass. Got the .348 brass tumbling now....

There was only one stray .30-30 case, one stray .38SPC case... and, truth being stranger than fiction, a single .32ACP case. Go figure.

Mail dropped off 500 plated .380 95 Gr RN bullets from Everglades ammo. First time I have ordered from them, they did well.

IMG_3288.jpeg Got this pile sorted. IMG_3307.jpeg By Headstamp. IMG_3308.jpeg All labeled all “nice”.
IMG_3309.jpeg I’m trying to figure out what this is! Oh ya, I think it’s called a floor…
IMG_3305.jpeg After I have no idea how many thousand 9mm sorted, this is the first Browning headstamp I’ve found. Feels much better quality that the junky Aguilla; of which there’s plenty!😤
Now off to prime Starline 308 brass and load a ladder of benchmark and 110 V-max.

FINALLY!!!!!!

I did something Reloading related.

I sized some 45-70 Brass. I hope to have it loaded up this weekend.

This truly is one of my favorite cartridges.

Primed and loaded a higher ladder of N110 with 220gr Berry's in .300 blackout. I'm getting a little low on N110, hopefully I can find some locally!

I grew up on Florida well water. If your waters not chunky and smelling like rotten eggs it’s no good.

Let’s see I decapped and sized 50 pieces of 6.5 Creedmoor brass it’s in the tumbler next up is 50 pieces of 6.5 Grendel I’ll do the same thing to and to finish I decapped and sized 40 pieces of 300 savage

I also encounter this from time to time

So running in just dawn gets them shiny after being clean but dull?
I meant that I wash the media in Dawn occasionally. I don't tumble with Dawn, I use automotive wash and wax. But I wash the media in Dawn if my brass starts coming out dull.

If your just starting out 1 thing to remember is if you have black residue on everything you did not use enough soap. I prefer the ArmorAll W&W since it leaves a protective coating behind. Also try different amounts of LimeShine/citric acid. When I switched over to county water I had to double the amount I was adding to get the brass clean. Water pH plays an important part in the chemical make up.
This was just the first batch for today. The 4 Friday, 4 Saturday and 2 yesterday came out as expected. I also use ArmorAll wash and wax with LemiShine and pretty much have the measurements figured out. Just the first batch for today came out dull. I blame it on dirty media when this happens and tumble the media alone in Dawn. I had to use a slightly different amount of LemiShine when we moved to where I live now. Different city, different water!

I’m wondering if my county water doesn’t change ph on occasion because I’ll do everything the same as usual but the results are very different.
I have wondered the same thing. I suppose its possible. Maybe the regular guy takes off on vacation or something and another employee does something different.

My great aunt in Pittsburgh’s Spring Valley area had the worst rotten egg smelling water. Hated visiting there as a kid for fear I’d have to take a bath in it.

I don’t hear complaints about ours from friends or neighbors but it has a ”flat” taste I just don’t care for. We use a Brita filter for our coffee and cooking water but am now afraid to ask about its effects. At least I know it’s not directly processed waste water like London.

For a while I’ve been using Cascade dishwasher pods. They usually work great inside and outside the case. BUT I still get an inconsistent result. Just like I did with dawn, etc. I’m thinking I need to put in hot water and let it dissolve completely before using. And have considered using distilled water—I already buy plenty for my CPAP machine.
