What have you done in the reloading room today

Gosh, I have no idea.

I would say that it was not designed or manufactured that way... you can see where the headstamp is ground off from the groove (at the 3 O'Clock position, you can barely make out the tops of letters.)

Ok so as stated in an earlier post, I am getting stuff to set up a small Raspberry Pi tablet and I should have the rest of the stuff this week but I have been messing around with trying to get Microsoft SQL server stuff figured out (It is NOT like Microsoft Access at all, BTW) and I gave up and am just going to use Google Sheets for inventory.... Sigh... Oh well. I'll keep y'all posted.

If you are looking for inexpensive spreadsheet options, try LibreOffice... it's an open source copy of, essentially, MS Office Suite. I use LO Calc for all my inventory and data spreadsheets... and the price is right (free.)

Finally finished up tumbling all that .308 brass... got it sorted and ready for sizing. .45ACP brass is tumbling now...

Musings from the bench...

I'm stuck between my phobias... On one hand, I don't like odds n ends, and on the other hand, I don't like to waste serviceable things.

My .308/7.62mm brass stash has grown quite a bit, but with headstamps I don't normally inventory... crazy Hornady brass... some nickle, some brass, some subdued nickle (the old TAP rounds,) CBC, PPU (as opposed to 'nny' which is the old PPU white box ammos from their first run, and which makes up about 50% of my M1a brass stash...) FC (from my FGMM rounds,) and PMC. Normally I would just lump those into one bin for use with low velocity cast bullets in my Savage 99... but I don't need 500 cases for that. Soooo... I'll have to ponder over this. I'll probably move the fairly large quantity of PPU brass over for use in the M1a; the case capacity is similar to my nny brass, and I'm usually only loading blasting ammos, anyway.

Hmmmm....

There's always the PIF thread. Good way to get rid of stuff cluttering up your bench and help out a fellow reloader.

lol!!! You should use Oracle with a SAS front end. 😁👍
IBM leases for their smaller mainframes are very affordable.

“Reloading room” fun during the storm: I heard dripping in the back corners where the last leaks started. New roof but the oak was dropping some pretty big limbs so I went into prevent mode.

Turned out to be the faucet in the laundry room (next room) Didn’t get shut off all the way. Whew! 😅

Last night I inventoried/stored some supplies I had ordered. I also ordered and received the slow twist rod for my Lee SPP as well as a new expander button for my poweder through dies in 9mm. Installed both and tested. I was hoping to get the M-step tyle expander and did :)

True... and I thought of that... but I am reluctant to even give away rifle brass that has multiple loadings on it. It's one of my phobias.

You could setup and measure the case volume. Then compare to what your using. You may find some close to what your shooting now.

Received and set up my Fx-120i and V4 Autotrickler combo last night. After dialing in the scale level and calibration I charged and seated 50rd of 357 Mag.

Took 29 minutes with the V4 compared to the dipper and pocket scale which was 1hr 20min.

Clean up took a bit longer than just pouring powder from my glass jar back to the cannnister but I'll get quicker at that.

@Bearded Phil has an item from my “please Santa” list. lol.
I tried running my ladder from last night to “book max”: IMG_3332.jpeg Ya… bit more “compressed” than I’m loading!

I also weighed 20 Primed(BR-2) Starline 308 win brass. Heaviest was 180.5 gr. Lightest was 179.2. That spread didn’t seem to bad to me for the price point. Then I had my curiosity up; so I weighed 20 lapua(unprimed). Heaviest was 172.1; lightest was 173.8. Pretty close on spread. There more closer in weight. What that does for me right now is basically satisfying my curiosity. Haha.

That one is full boss....

Swapped out the single stage for the Pro 6000. Set the flaring/charging station back up with the new stepped expander, and played with that a bit. I'm impressed with how flat the bullets sit in the case now! After that I filled the bullet feeder tubes and case feeder, then realized I had a few house chores to do. At least I'm ready to go for loading tomorrow!

IMG_3340.jpeg Finished up the evening by setting up for 45 auto. IMG_3334.jpeg FINALLY got to use the powder thrower with the dramworx hopper and with the pistol rotor. Threw less than .1 either side the whole way through(I weighed almost all of them). 6.7!gr of Longshot &230 gr Berrys

Boxed & stored recently assembled .357 Mag., 158 gr. JHP on top of 13.2 grs. of 2400. It's about an 1125 FPS load from a 4" GP100.

I would recommend adjusting the sizer up a 1/4" or so, it will get rid of that sizing die mark
on the thicker/solid web, and it doesn't need to be sized down that far anyway.
