What have you done in the reloading room today

View attachment 1195952Put my ā€œEZā€ tabs for my go to cartridge on the new manual and put it on the shelf(after drying it in front of the fan. My daughter had a spill literally 30 seconds after I pulled it out of the plastic. Water wrinkles are in the 357 mag pages if youā€™re wondering) View attachment 1195951also tumbled what should be tonightā€™s project. Iā€™ve personal never had trouble with 45 auto and 357 mag in the same batch in the wet tumbler with pins; Dry/walnut? Oh ya! These will be true blue and 230 gr Berrys. And 158 gr xtp second andā€¦ probably cfe pistol. Maybe H110ā€¦ depending on how exuberant Iā€™m wanting Dads model 13 (I think Iā€™m remembering right) to be. I personally donā€™t like pushing the old girl to hard.
An 8.8 grain starting load of true blue was very accurate and plenty warm if you want to save the mag primers.

My new Lyman 51 (hardcover; I think itā€™s worth the extra $5-7) has a 4.5 start in 38 special for true blue: max of9.1 in 357 mag. Iā€™m wondering about a 6-7 gr load(in a Mag case obviously)
I was using western load data. I think it goes up to 9.8 but I never felt the need. It was accurate and I recall about 1200fps.

Made carefully blown out, carefully measured and sized and measured again brass for a mini thirty. Just like I do with my Garands. Walked my new knee out to the barn and shot four 3 shot under 2 inch groups at 50yds. Scope of course. Finished the day happy. Waiting for insomnia to let off with you all. No bullseye, just shoot a hole and try to match it 20240221_161259.jpg

Loaded up 100 rounds of 45 ACP with 200 gn HP X-Treme projectiles, CCI LPP, and 7.3 gnā€™s of CFE Pistol.
Sorted a bunch of 308 & 30-06 brass, and threw about 200 pieces of 45 ACP brass in the tumbler for the next loading session. View attachment 1196156View attachment 1196157
Do you know what size Allen wrench fits those šŸ¤£. They look awesome but sometimes the adhd gets the better of me.

Well finally poured some powder into the Dram Worx glass hopper today. A little True Blue, which I have been doing alot of messing around with lately. 44 special, took it up to the maximum of 6.7 today for the GP100. The last batch at 6.5gr shot well, I'll go the extra .2 and lay off the coffee tomorrow.
Like this new hopper.....think I'm gonna get another for my other measure.

Putting a few things away in the reloading room, including some 85 grain .308 caliber semi jacketed bullets for my 1905 Mannlicher. They're now properly filed away to wait until Buffalo Arms gets off TDC and turns down some 32-20 cases for my Mannlicher brass. It's been on backorder since July. Sadly, the only other source of 7.63 Mann brass, Huntington's, went belly up about the same time as I placed the Buff order.

Spent some time polishing the thumb safety interference points on my. BHP. itā€™s as good as I can make it nowā€” serviceable and locks positively in safe and off positions. I wish it was a little easier to move, but I think that would require a new safety. This one seems slightly undersized (the pin that goes through the hammerā€” so it tightens up when the hammer is at full cock). Itā€™s fine while fitting it.

Makes me wonder if a new safety would cure it, or if it would require a new hammer as well. Hmmmā€¦

I think Iā€™ll just load some more 9mm and go shoot it this week!

I changed over my 550C from .223 to 9MM and loaded 350'ish rounds...RMR 124 matchwiners over 3.9 N320.

Got another 650 to knock out this week...I load for 15 minutes to an hour at a shot...depending on what the day is like. when the bin is full I run them all through a case gauge and drop them in a plastic container for storage.

Funny note...I thought I was out of the 124 RMR's so I ordered a thousand...when I went to put them away, I saw I already had almost 1500! Guess that's a good thing! LOL!
