What have you done in the reloading room today

They have evidently changed some of their policies. I ordered my Lyman case trimmer from them, and it showed up with no pilots. It was supposed to have nine of them. It was supposed to be one of those repackage deals of theirs. I tried to get them to just send me the pilots. They would not do that. They told me to just throw that one away and they would send me a new one. I told him I didn’t really want to do that. So they refunded my money and told me to just throw it away they did not want it back. so I took nine dollars of the refund, and bought the pilots… I ended up with the trimmer for nothing. 🤣🤣

Nice! I got looking at my replacement VS the original. The original packaging, when compared to the new one I just got, has obviously been broken in to. It's now obvious looking at how it SHOULD have been packaged VS how I received it. Someone opened one end and took out the reamer and cleaner bits, then sent the item back. I'd put money on Amazon sending this one out AGAIN on a sale and hoping it sticks! Although at this point the end of the case deburring side is poking through the plastic. It's starting to look really shop-worn. Hopefully they will send it back to Lyman or toss it. But I doubt it.

Now I have to take the original to a UPS store and send it back. That's the only pain. My UPS store is not convenient. I have to go pick up a new gun tomorrow, so I can drop it off on the way.

At least you have one that is relative close. The closes one to me is over an 1 hr away, 60+ mi. So I generally have to pay for returns.

I spent part of the morning consolidating most of my bullet casting Tin and putting it in a 20mm ammo can. The Pewter that I just bought, several ingots made from a 5 gallon bucket of mixed solder that I bought a while back, several bars of bar solder, ect. This also let me make sure that it all had permeant letters stamped on them.

I was at my reloading bench this morning planning the layout of the Range Reloading Kit (s) I am putting together. The foam has those small 1/4 inch semi-pre-cut square pullouts so you can easily mold the foam to whatever items you are putting in there.

I was going to use this smaller case from Amazon for everything, but then quickly learned that was far too small for everything. So I dedicated this smaller case to powder supply and electronics like the RCBS digital portable scale, trickler, pan and funnel. Although I decided this morning that I am getting the Lyman or RCBS combo pan/funnel to condense equipment even more for the range. No reason to have a separate funnel and Pan when you can get them combined.

I already had an unused Solo Computer brief case designed for a large 16" laptop, so I ordered some foam from Amazon for that to make it a range kit case. The foam is running late on delivery, but should arrive today. So this will be the range reloading hardware kit. I am putting in the Lee Hand Press, a few Die boxes (I can't imagine I'll reload more than two calibers at the range) and accessories like the Lee Case Multi-Tool. Still in the early planning stages. Items will shift and more items will be added before it's complete;

Can't you ship USPS?
I can ship UPS, USPS, FedX but I use drop boxes or Staples. There is just NO UPS Store near me. Part of living in the country with a county population of around 18k. Nearest city has a population of ~4500. There are way more cows than people where I'm at. The nice thing is that I shoot anytime by just walking out the door. My pistol and 100 yrd rifle range is located between my house and shop. I have to crank-up the UTV to get to my 200 & 300 yrd range.

It's the price I pay but would not change it.

Sounds like heaven to me, sir. Truly. :) 👍

Amazon delivered the foam for my Range Reload Kit, so I may try and get that cut in to the case today. I was supposed to pick up a gun at the store, but I got busy and never got around to it. Tomorrow maybe. Friday for sure.

I have to say, gents, that one of the best bench items I have ever bought is my new drafting chair that is high enough for the bench to be comfortable, with a full back rest and lumbar support, flip up armrests, a foot-rest and adjustable seat height. It's a game-changer for me during long hours at the bench. I didn't mind the stool I was using for the last few decades, but it got to my back after a while;

Not in the reloading room, but in the garage this morning.
Today I finally finished popping spent primers out of range brass.
Last up was .223 and 5.56.
and this happened..........

Stuck in the shell holder.
Just bent it over, snapped it off and was good to go, BUT,

Memo to self,

Watch for others when prepping brass.
There may be more with the cup of the primer stuck in the pocket(s) as I was not checking every case.

Ya learn something new almost everyday!

That case isn't worth your time. Use hemostats or needle nose to tear off the primer, toss it in the recycling bin and keep on keeping on...

Yup, I just toss them in a 5 gallon pail.
Very many at the ranges.

When the bucket gets full, off to the junk yard.
$1.75/# last time. ;)

This one got through QC in prep somehow… oops

It happens......................
