What is the most recent knife you bought?

In Europe they're considered Pig Sticker folding hunting knives. We tend to call them "Folding Bowies" because, well, marketing.

This makes my third, but the first was a cheap Pakistani example. The second was a good condition stag. This Solengen is the best of the three.

-Looks like Glock cloned a USMC Kabar... .

Damn fine knife, too. I've had mine since '80, Dad had a few $$ left on his uniform allowance and gave it to me for an early Xmas present so I could use it during deer season. (My BD is in Mid Dec.)

Field dressed many a deer with it, the saw will work on ribs, no need to pack a bone saw.
I kind of turned it into a family tradition and gave both my sons a Glock knife before their first hunt, though my older son always carried the Olsen my Dad gave him.

Found this in my dads drawer today. He passed away several years ago and my mom kept some of his clothes in a drawer. He's got stuff stashed all over the house. Made is Solingen Germany prolly in 60's I'm guessing. Edge Mark #461 blade is 4 and 7/8 inches, total length is 9 inches. Nice midsize fixed blade with stag handle.
Found this composition online from a guy who was selling one in Austin:
The Edge Mark 461 was made in Solingen Germany, dubbed "The City of Knives" for the city's long standing reputation for excellence in cutlery. The blade is made of high carbon steel that is known for ease in sharpening and yet holds its edge longer than other blades. The over all length of this knife is 9" with the blade measuring just under 4 7/8".

The Sambar deer (see last photo) is a much bigger deer than the North American deer. Their antlers are tougher, stronger, harder than U.S. deer antlers. The color -vs- U.S. deer is more amber and yellowish in color and forms a more beautiful patina with use. The custom made stag handle, brass guard and pommel are held together by a spanner nut at base of pommel for easy adjustments, and if ever needed, for repairs and easy replacement of parts.

Dark Timber Knives Barracuda, black G10 with dark red G10 liners, satin Nitro-V blade.

I always loved the Ka-Bar USMC fighting knife and disliked the unavailability of any upgraded materials, but then Ka-Bar did a deal with Spartan Blades to make a Ka-Bar with Kraton handle and MagnaCut blade!

If you are interested in one of these, I can now testify that you should spend the extra $50 to get the kydex sheath, the leather sheath on the cheaper one is just straight poop.

Did buy another Ka-Bar at one of my base exchanges yesterday. The price seems to have come down a few bucks, and, of course, no tax on base. I like to give these away to friends and family. Everyone needs one, right? Looks exactly like the one second from the right... (yep, these would be some of my favorite fixed-blade fighting knives).

I just need to make sure that some of the Glock fanbois on this forum don't think I'm just another Glock-hater. I own Glocks myself! My Glock field knife is one knife I actually take outdoors and use, too.

Hey, if you want to upgrade that Glock knife, they benefit from stippling on the grips, just like the pistols. :)

The last knife I bought is a back up to the one Ive been carrying for a couple of years now, one of the Boker Plus Balisongs. They are actually a good deal for the Balisongs price wise, $80 or so versus the usual couple of hundred bucks. I have a couple of Benchmades, and I actually like the Bokers better.

The Boker is on top..

@EMC45 I have been debating about adding a fighting/all purpose fixed blade for a hiking (currently have a Morakniv 3 1/2" in my pack). I like the Glock knife and now I want one....
THR enablers 😡😡😡🤣🤣🤣
Now you gotta get one! ;)

I see you already did! Good deal.

Just picked up a Kershaw S30V steel Blur. I want to give this particular steel a shot in the field in pocket carry mode while hunting. Deer season coming up quick...
