What is wrong with this picture?

How long ago was this pic taken? I haven't seen a squad car that old in a long time.
 
LOL, that is what I thought when I saw it but it is a recent pic. but that is not what I was referring to.

I would not want to be the "Felony Traffic Stop Backstop", either.

Also, in pic 2, if the deputy has to squeeze off a round or 2 in a hurry, the concussive force (MUZZLE BLAST) will ruin the microphone/speaker on his walky-talky.


Never mind HOW I know, I just know... :evil:
 
There's also the officer in the 2nd picture with his finger on the trigger, gun pointed into the air.

I'm relatively new to guns but bad muzzle control and fingers on triggers are quickly becoming my pet peeves.

I think I need to take a break after looking at their homepage and all of its bright colors and scrolling text. (my parents are from the area, so I tried to catch up on the local news, but that page seems horribly out of date)

In the first pic the old Valiant looks like it needs new torsion bars and a deoxidation and wax job.
In the second photo it seems like he would be better off using the sights to shoot the perp out of the tree.
 
The cop in the first pic had too many Dunkin' Donuts...

The cop in the second pic hasn't had enough.....
 
The problems I see are:

In the first picture, like everyone else said...what is wrong with the camera man and where he's standing. Doesn't he know what a bullet will do to his camera! :)

In the second picture, it says he's looking for an armed robber....he isn't wearing kevlar that I can see...stupid?

Just my thoughts
 
Yeah now you guys are seeing what I was thinking was wrong with them. First pic, the camera man. What if that cop actually did have to fire at the suspects? Would of been scramblin. Also look at the cop car in relation to the traffic coming behind him, that is the scariest part about it to me.

Pic 2. Finger on the trigger and muzzle pointed to the sky like Charlie's Angles.

Are those the keys by the left front tire on the ground?

What if someone clips to door, folds it forward, distracting the officer. The guys in the car take advantage of that with the keys, or a spare key, and take off. Would they run over the camerman, or would he get shot when they cross in front of him?

One of the local PDs had a Diplomat up until a couple of years ago. I guess more seniority got you a better car (many transfers)...
 
'hey Cheif, I caught them there gun waving kids half an hour ago! how long do I have to keep holding them at gunpoint waiting for the Daily Bugle photographer to finally show up? I had 6 cups of coffee this morning, and now I have to PEE!"
 
From the appearance of the first photo, the photographer was using a long lens. That would put him well out of the line of fire.
 
AK-74Me, maybe it's because I was a pro photographer in my day, but it's obvious to me from that first photo that the guy taking the picture is using a very long telephoto lens, I'd guess at least a 500mm. Due to the effect of what is called "Compression of Field", or squeezing toghether of the depth of field, it makes it look like things are much closer than they really are, especiall things in the background to the officer.

The photographer taking that picture would have been well out of the angle of fire, and I'd have taken my chances to get such a dramatic shot with a telephoto without thinking twice.
 
Fair enough, I can still count atleast 3 things between the 2 pictures that I wouldn't be doing. I just happend to see the 2 pictures and a few things stood out to me immediatly.
