I've had countless conversations with buddies about the ultimate 1911. Just wanted to people to weigh in here and give us your favorite 1911.

I've only had one, so I guess the choice is easy! RIA tactical.

I love it. 1911s are the best.

I recently acquired a Kimber Aegis 5" 9mm that has become my absolute favorite 1911. Paired with the Leatham 9mm mags, it's been 100% and is absolutely a tackdriver.

I've owned quite a few, Kimbers,Ed Brown Kobra, Dan Wesson Valor (very good), Para's ,STI'S ,S&W'S(good value),SIG'S,Colts(buying the name),S/A'S(good stuff)im forgetting some & i can keep going, but just using ths as an example of my experience with 1911's, MY personal Favorite is the LES BAER TRS , has it all and none of what you dont need, it's hard to explain ,in terms of how this gun shoots and feels, it's as tight as a bank vault!! but yet so accurate and flawless and so solid, if i had to give up all my 1911's that would be the only one left.

My Mil-Spec that has been through the Custom Shop.

me to, but my most desired is a WW1 original. Old and tattered but still in decent shape.

Kind of like this one, but I think it was a commercial model.

My one 1911 that'll never get sold is my Springfield Custom Carry. That gun has sentimental value.

OTOH, I'd cry if I ever had to get rid of my Les Baer Concept II. That 1911 is just sweet.

Only own 4 1911s, but out of those it would the Les Baer TRS and a high second is the commander sized DW CBOB. As tight as the LB is, I almost stripped a bushing wrench the first time I tried to take it down, I shot 350 rounds through it brand spanking new with different ammuntion and only ran a bore snake through it after 300. Nada, nothing, just shot and wanted more. No fumble or bobble. And I know, lots of good guns do that, but it's impressive none the less for the weight, the accuracy and the feel of 1911 to shoot well and, as the previous poster mentioned, has just about all you need without extraneous bells and whistles.

Now the DW CBOB. Best 1,000 bucks I spent on a pistol You get 85% of the LB with lots of neat workmanship. Lockup is nice and the slide to frame fit is good. The grip checkering is great and slight indentations have been relieved from the frame to allow a better reach to the trigger. The feel is nice and it has a lot of workmanship that will cost extra on some other pistols-- and this is the only 1911 that I own that I have not put new grips on because it felt right from the getgo. That was the only thing I did not like about the LB, the slick TR laser cut grips did not offer enough purchase for my smallish hands.
