What is your favorite 9mm JHP cartridge?

This post caught my interest so I looked into this stuff a bit. I found a video showing this stuff to penetrate completely through blocks of balistic gel, and into a couple water jugs, and STILL not expand at all.
Yes, it's inexpensive, and I'm sure it'll go 'bang' everytime, but this older ammo isn't nearly as effective as the more contemporary offerings discussed already.
ya there are a lot of good video ive seen lately

Failure to eject twice in 100 that I figured was ammo related...either the weight or the quality of the cheaper ammunition...however it had worked for me in other full sized 9mm pistols...

What is your favorite 9mm JHP cartridge?

My favorite is Hornady American Gunner / Custom 124 gr. "+P"

In regular only. Not +P etc.

Hornady American Gunner / Custom 124 gr.

It's hard to beat the inherent accuracy of the XTP JHP bullet. My HK P30 cycles these reliably and accurately. I don't shoot a steady diet of +P ammo from my P30, but the gun shows no wear or damage from occasional use of +P ammo.

I am a big fan of Speer Gold Dots. I try to keep at least 100 rounds on hand for every caliber that I can.

I like heavy for caliber bullets and think the 135-147 grain bullets give me what I want out of the typical short barrel length 9mm handguns (less than 3.5" is a short barrel to me).

Federal's HST is my favorite for personal defense. When I'm in the woods I carry Hornady's XTP, also in 147 grain.

Me too and my Colts in .45ACP really love the 185 grain Silvertips as well. In 9mm. I also like the Speer 124 grain Gold Dots and the Hornady 124 grain XTP ammo.

Speer Gold Dot or Federal HST 124gr are my usual choices in 9mm, standard or +P (although I prefer them in +P).

Another vote for Speer Gold Dot 124 +P based on real world results and good things said about the load by Massad Ayoob (yes, took his class).

For those who shoot pistol caliber carbines, keep in mind that 147gr XTPs are a boat tail design and are designed tough enough for medium sized game. :)

If no +P or +P+, the old Federal 115 9BP JHP. This because it has been very accurate in my 9MMs and will feed in about any gun that will feed ball.

I do not consider the 9BP desirable as a Duty/SD/HD round. It is old tech, low energy, not likely to expand, etc. For serious purposes, I would much prefer the similar but more energetic Federal 9BPLE, XM9001 or one of the newer HST type rounds......ymmv
