The SOG Spec Elite is my heavy duty knife, and it rides in my pocket all the time, but the Kershaw AO has become my most favorite because of the edge is is holding, and the fact that with all the time it has been in both salt, and fresh water while I, am swimming no rust has appeared.

The SOG started to speckle after only a few minutes in salt water.

The wife gave me a 530 earlier today for my 30th birthday. It is ubsurdly light and thin. Carries like it's not there. It is my favorite for now because it is new and different. But I doubt it will surpass my PM2 in the long run.

I have had a love affair with Spyderco since I held my first one in 1993, and it was recently invigorated again after some time away from knives. A few days ago, a Spyderco Gayle Bradley arrived in my mailbox and yep, it's my favorite. This thing has a reputation as a tank and a cutting machine, and I can see why. Can't wait for the Gayle Bradley 2 to be released sometime this year.

Benchmade Griptilian 551, I love it, its the plain edge. I also have the serrated version as well, but prefer the plain edge. Also carry a leatherman wave and a micra. Sundays I carry something a little less aggressive looking, a Case sod buster jr or maybe a swiss army knife. I have to say, Benchmades are my favorite knives, plus they are based where I used to live.

I have experimented with a number of knives, and so far I have yet to find anything superior to my two favorites: Kershaw Blur and Spyderco Endura. The Spyderco Manix is a close third and there are a few knives there in fourth place. But for me, those two knives do everything I want and have thus far needed in a folding knife.

Made this one for myself 4 or 5 years ago, that's probably the longest I've stuck with the same EDC knife. Blade is 440C, and was 3.5 inches long, its about an eighth shorter now. Handle is 6al4v titanium. Its extremely thin and light weight for the size of the blade.
I've though about making myself a new one with more exotic steel, or some fancy handle scales but I don't have much time in the shop and this one still gets the job done.

My favorite is a Strider SnG that Josh at Strider sent me when I lost my previous one. I do no carry it, afraid of losing it again.

My carry knives change. Either a Benchmade (Rift, Griptilian or Bone Collector), SAK or a little Moore Maker I really like.

Spydie Dragonfly Lightweight II—because it only weighs an ounce and a half. It rarely does anything but open packages. The handle ergonomics are amazing.

Man I wish I had the technology to make my own folder. There is nothing like taking pride in one's own work.

There are some kits out there now that don't require much more than sandpaper and files, and make a very nice knife. Not quite as unique as making your own from scratch but you still end up with something one of a kind.

My EDC for years now has been my Benchmade Mini Griptilian. It started life as the partially serrated model. Then I took it over to Benchmade to get sharpened one day, and asked them to swap the blade out for a plain edge (cost me $35). I thought it was then the perfect EDC knife. If only it rode a little deeper in the pocket. So the next time I took it over to Benchmade for sharpening, I asked them to swap pocket clips for the deep carry clip that comes on the 810 (free). Now it was officially my perfect EDC folder. I have been lusting after a Sypderco Paramilitary 2 for a long time now, but I just can't seem to imagine taking away the Mini Grip's EDC duties. I love it.

My favorite EDC is my SOG Spec-Elite MINI. Its the perfect size, the blade is thick and VG-10 steel which has vanadium in it. The Arc-Lock can withstand 1000 lbs of pressure and its incredibly sharp. I wouldnt carry another blade. I hate bulky blades but this ones just right. Blade length is only 2 3/4's I believe but thats plenty to get the job done.

Downside is they recently took them out of production. You can still find them now but I recommend acting quick before their all gone. SOG still offers a lifetime warranty on this blade and claims to have all parts to fix one if the need ever arises.

Pocket clip is removable, and blade tension is fully adjustable.

Favorite folder that I own?

Tough question. I carry a Vic SAK every day and it certainly is my most used knife. But my ZT 0770CF, Spyderco Native in S35VN, or GEC #42 are my favorite folders and I rotate as the mood strikes me mostly these three knives with my SAK.

My "favorite" is a worn out old case knife my grandpa carried for decades. He wouldn't replace it until usefulness was gone. The blades are nubs and useless but he still used it every day. Ironically it now sits in my safe...never to be used again.

The favorite knife i actually use is an old buck 55. A small scale version of the 110. It is slim, locks tight, and sharp. I carry it anytime I wear dress pants.

Mine are as follows: Kershaw leek, Kershaw vapor (since lost while fishing), coast dx340, and a very old case two bladethati found in an attic while working. The Kershaw lek is the e.d.c. followed by the coast. I only bring the gaseous for special occasions.
