OK, Time to show off a little here. Everyone here in Mountain Home AR. is getting ready for the upcoming Deer season. Some people have been saving all year to get their Next hunting rifle, or upgrade to a fancy deer stand or getting new camping gear or new camping trailer. Take a picture and SHOW IT OFF! Or tell us about it if no pic. are available. I want to see what you sacrificed and saved for. Then let us know how it worked, Shot, or made your hunt better. I will post a picture just as soon as I can get my phone to take a picture.

I dont honestly know if I have a "most prized" possession.....If I do its one of the gifts that ive gotten from friends or family....
My Knife set and carrier from Uncle David, The bi-pod and Tri-pod from @MCMXI, the hunting pack from my highschool buddy who moved in 6 houses down from me a few years ago after we hadnt talked for years.......stuff like that
Everything else is easily replaceable, all it costs is money.

Ill post a picture of whats listed when I go outside next since they all live in my pack lol. ....Ill think about it and see if theres anything else or if i can narrow it down to one lol.

While I certainly don't "own" her, my most prized hunting possession is my favorite hunting companion - my wife.
Second up in my most prized hunting possessions line-up are my memories of hunting trips past - I actually DO own those.
BTW, my wife helped me with this response, and she says I'm her most prized hunting possession as well. :)

This post is wonderful.. makes me think of a saying I try to live by." If I can only be the man MY DOG thinks I am...

40 acres of dense Northern MN mixed woods is my most prized hunting related possession. Still a work in progress deer wise, but management so far has provided a bounty of blueberries, chokecherry, grouse, timber, firewood, forest medicinal plants, and countless hours of relaxing enjoyment getting away from the grind.

A.H. Fox "Sterlingworth" 20GA SxS that's been in my family since just after WWI. My grandfather traded a bushel of scallops for it, because the old gentleman that "wanted" to give it to him "had" to get something in return. 4 generations of my family learned how to shoot with that gun. I grew up hunting ducks, woodcock, grouse and doves with it.

About 20 years ago, it was looking rough, too much time in R.I. salt marshes, and more importantly had shot loose. So I sent it to Doug Turnbull to be restored and upgraded to an "AE" grade with engraving. I also had the stock fit to me as the old doubles had a a lot of drop as they shot with a "heads up" position in the old days. I also had the chokes opened up to Imp Cyl and Mod, VS. Mod and Full.

The crappy pictures really don't do it justice:

Now it comes out when the day is perfect and I go on preserve shoots. I'm hoping to get a few more generations out of it, but you know how that goes.

My trusty 30.06 and my woods chair.

My most prized possession would have been my old Brittany bird dog Jake. He was a monster in the field. He had an eye for cover and a nose for birds and a desire to find them all. He was hard headed, and kind hearted. He’s been gone for over a decade.

my old Hawken that I built in 1984 is one of my prized possessions. So many deer and rendezvous and good times with it back in the good old days.

I finally got a chance to go stay in our cabin/hunting blind. It may be one of my favorite possessions. image.jpg

I talked Mrs farmer into coming along. She is really my favorite thing. 3182A988-9783-4A47-A8D1-E3A010A667CC.jpeg

Yep, I (or the wife) (or "we" I guess) had a Yorkshire Terrier named "Killer". He was the best grouse dog, bar none, that ever lived. Who would have guessed? A "Yorkie" hunting dog? He's been gone for a while, watching him die really sucked. Fearless dog with a giant personality and so intelligent it kind of scared me sometimes.
