What pistol do you like to shoot that it seems only you have?

I have a 10-8 S&W that has been heavily customized with a very heavy barrel, bomar rib, and an action job. It looks very impressive, people who haven't seen it before are usually intimidated and treat it like its a Desert Eagle or something of that nature, and squint their eyes half shut with their hands over their ears anticipating huge amounts of noise and blast when I raise it....then look really surprised when it gives barely a bang, doesn't recoil, and a mouse-fart .38 wadcutter pops out.
I have yet to see another PPC customized heavy barrel revolver locally.
Hell, when I bring out a revolver, period, most of my friends give me weird looks

It also has what is, without a doubt, the best trigger ever to grace a striker-fired pistol.

As noted above, you've apparently not spent much time with a P7 (which is generally exceptionally accurate, too). That said, I had a Soviet-captured Luger that had a sensational trigger and which was also very accurate. (They're striker-fired, too...)

This one. When shooting it in .30-30, it always draws a crowd. Though it should be plentiful, I've never seen another at the range, just .223s and .44 mags. When ammo was cheap, I was generous in letting people fire a round. Now, I doubt I would. In .45-70, on the other hand, it pushes people away and I don't really fire it anymore.

I didn't want to be the first to post a revolver. :)

Here's my gun that gets more than its share of "What the heck?"

S&W 647, .17 HMR, Ultradot Microdot.

I put this together for my father when he reached his 80s and started having trouble seeing the crosshairs on his similar-sized Model 17. The SA trigger ended up at 2.25# after a little polishing and a new rebound slide spring. The Microdot worked out really well. He could dial the dot size up and I could use the smallest one.

No doubt. Ten or fifteen years ago I ran across a man with one in .35 Whelen.

The muzzle didn't quite reach through the window of the old plank range house with a drop down hinged window at each bench. His handloads were something to experience. I think the potbellied woodstove moved over about 3 inches when it went off and all sorts of dirt and dust sifted down from overhead.

I believe that was my first experience with .35 Whelen. I know it's just a beefed up .30-06, but out of a short barrel it's loud.

Here's mine. A custom AT-84s, supposedly built by Jim Boland, a big-name gunsmith who did a lot of 1911s and IPSC guns.

I have an unnatural attraction to AT-84s. I'm not a fan of the 9mm cartridge, but I still want one of these and a BHP someday. Beautiful custom!

My Tanfoglio elite limited in 40s&w. I compete at two ranges and I have the only one as far as I know. A friend has 3 elite match's ( 9, 40, & 45), I think those are the only other Tanfoglios around. As much as I like my 1911's, my tanfoglio is my favorite.

Love the 30-30 in a Contender!
My old shooting buddy had the 10" 30-30. I was intimidated by it until I shot it. A very nice shooting gun with a full size fireball at the muzzle. The actual recoil was non-eventful, far less than the same gun in .44 Rem Mag. He also had a 10" .222 Rem barrel, another rare-ish caliber, another sweet shooter. He used H335 in both, for matching fireballs I can only assume.

Great list BTW. I've never seen most of the guns listed at my range except for the Contender and the USP Elite (used to own one).

My unique gun would have to be my Freedom Arms model 97 .357. There are quite a few large frame F/A's around, but I've never seen another small frame F/A anywhere.

There are some really cool pistols here--thanks for sharing!

Wow--I REALLY like that 5" 5906!

I am going to flip it around and say that for most range trips, I typically only ever see Glocks, Berettas, and various brand 1911s. Then maybe an M&P or SIG, and once a blue moon a CZ.

I don't draw attention with any exotic pistols, but do get a few looks as I unload maybe 6 or 8 pistols at the firing line though... ;)

I alternate between one of my Bulgarian Makarovs and my Tokarev. Not terribly rare but not all that common, either.

This may seem strange to US pistoleros, but in my "neck of the woods" I seem to be the only one to own & shoot a Ruger Blackhawk. Mine is a 4 5/8" barreled stainless in .45 Colt

Other handguns I own and that seem extremely rare if not unique in my parts are my 4" S&W 624 (stainless N-frame .44 Spl) and a 2" S&W mod. 15.

Everybody around here shoots 1911's, Glocks and various hi-cap DA/SA 9mm's.

To steady your aim with an auto .22 pistol reach out with your other hand and support the barrel with your thumb and fore finger.

I know there are a fair number of owners out there, but I never see FN pistols, or more specifically my FNP-45. As far as revolvers, my S&W 460V, and my 686 Competitor.

Mine I had until recently was the Remington XP-100 in 7mm BR - touch that off and folks want to come over and see it

Back in my IHMSA days custom XP's were very popular. I didn't get to see it, but some joker chambered one in 458 Win Mag :what: for reasons unknown. Imagine the fun & attention you would get!

What pistol do you like to shoot that it seems only you have?

I have never run into Someone with an EMP, and I love shooting mine. It does get a lot of attention, especially when I beat the full sized big bores at pin shoots using an EMP 9mm.

I like shooting my cz75b and cz75b compact. In my area I'm the only one that I've seen shoot either. Not to many revolver shooters either. I would like to get a gp100 w/6" barrel to go with my taurus and my ruger sp101.

I have. The single-action trigger of the P99AS is indeed superior.
It would seem that there's at least some doubt to that. I find that IMHO My P7s trigger is better than the P99AS I shot. It's crisper, lighter, has less take up and a lot shorter reset.

I used to be pretty lonely shooting my Broomhandle, Colt 1917, S&W 1917, or Webley MkVI. But now it seems I'm the only one for miles around with a Beretta 71 in .22. Awesome little pistol.
