Ruger Single Six convertible???

ETA: If so, and it's only $50 I'd grab it in a heartbeat if I could.

If it's a Ruger, it's a great deal.

If it's an Arminius or something like that, it's not worth $50.

If you can't figure out what it is - no maker name or serial number, then it's only good for tossing in the river and getting rid of - it's a $10,000 fine and felony jail time for having a gun with an obliterated serial number.

Looks German to me. Not fancy but they usually work OK.

For $50 you can do some plinking with it.

Can't be too junky if it handles 22 magnums in the extra cylinder.

I agree, but if it was imported in the last 40 years it would at least have a serial number, the importers name & address, as well as "Made in Germany" & who made it.

It's the law since 1968 GCA.

I can almost see the marks on the side of the frame near the 'CAL .22' line and on the barrel.

I don't recall seeing a revolver fastened together like that one is at the top of the frame with two screws/bolts/whatever.

And is that a big old screwhead in front of the trigger guard next to the serial number? I think my eyes are tired - I've been at work since 7.

Nothing wrong with your eyes.

I can "almost" read the writing all over the side of the frame & top of barrel, but I can't get the poster to say what it says!

i havent actually seen it, just the pics, actually i saw it before like a year ago but i dont remember anything about it, i hope it has a cereal because im gonna buy it

It's an RG. I own 2 of them now and have had several over the years. They seem to be well made and they shoot just fine. $50.00 is a bargain. the last one I sold I got $110.00 for and it did not have the magnum cylinder.

....

I've never owned an RG but from what I understand it's not worth much of anything (certainly not $50)

I've heard that the RG SAs are less ghastly than the DAs.

I wouldn't fire an RG Double-action anything without a bench vice and 100yds of string involved.

That appears not to suck too badly :).

WARNING: odds are it has no safety. You have to carry it loaded five-up, hammer down on an empty. If it HAS a safety, assume it's no good and do five-up regardless.

my friends selling me this revolver with everything in the pic for 50 bucks, should i buy it ...

My personal advice, worth precisely what you paid for it, is "no".
Leave it.

Rohm Gesellschaft, if that's what it is, is not to be triffled with.
IMHO, YMMV, yadda, yadda.

...it doesnt look bad and im only getting it for 50 because im this guys best friend, hes actually selling it for 120
People come here for different reasons. Are you looking for advice or validation?

Nothing wrong with either, just asking...

And, by the way, welcome to the forums!

If nothing else you can keep the ammo and turn it in at the next gun buy back program. That is exactly what I did with the only RG I've owned. I doubled my money.

I think that is an NEA (?).22 lr /.22 WMR Liberty model. I almost bought one when they first came out they where $89.99 back in the late '80s early 90's.
They are what they are, a buddy picked one up at a swap meet for $69 in Joplin, Mo. some time back.

SOMEWHERE around here is a single action .22 of SOME stripe that really should be in a buy back. It shaves lead and spits it out the side.

It MIGHT just be an RG but I haven't seen it in a few years....

It's a Heritage Rough Rider, most likely one of their very first models 001-4.jpg Mine was bought in 92, they are still making and selling them.

i dont know why everyone thinks its soo ****ty, it doesnt look bad and im only getting it for 50 because im this guys best friend, hes actually selling it for 120

No one said it WAS "****ty" - just to use caution. (by the way, potty mouth isn't real "High Road", FYI).

You are getting cautioned because this group is made up of folks who like guns, love guns, live and breathe guns, and have done so for most decades of their (in some cases) long lives. They've seen good guns, bad guns, and guns that can hurt you or your friends standing nearby. Not being able to even say what Manufacturer it is raises a few alarm bells, and words of caution for your protection.

If it is a Heritage, that's a GOOD thing - even if old, it's going to be better than some stuff out there. Your best plan is to verify the maker's mark and go by that.
