A good rule of thumb is to keep your booger hook off of the bang switch until you are ready to fire the gun. Just a little piece of unsolicited advice.

There should be manufactures information on the top rib of the barrel.
There should be a manufactures logo on the grips under your hand.

If you could show us or tell us what those say & look like it would help.

There were to many top break revolvers similiar to yours made 100 years ago to list.

thnx but dont worry, i wont trigger it , neway it is not loaded...
any idea about howmuch does these type of revolvers cost, if i want to buy a new one.

They are not made any more. I see them used at gun shows for $100. or less depending on condition. Normally they are just wall hangers. The ammo is underpowered, sometimes hard to fined, and not cheep.

By the way it was bought for $2000 in year 1982.
I dont think u have enuf idea about wat u r sayin,.

Need maufacturer info. Better pics would help. Also keeping your finger on the trigger is always a bad idea unloaded or not. Thats a rule that everybody on this board go by and most shooters. That $2000 in 1982 doesn't really help as much as manufacturer info. Did that price include exchange rate and all since you are in India.

If you're serious about that $2000 then you got seriously ripped off. Either that or this is a full fledged troll thread. Or if you're from some other country than the US then perhaps the $2000 refers to a fairly cheap local currency? If so then perhaps it's not a bad price if the amount is about the same as a few days worth of groceries.

The finish and the obvious lack of barrel stamping for maker and caliber suggests that this is pretty much the cheapest of the cheap Saturday Night Specials that was ever made. Frankly I'd be afraid to put anything but the most mild of reloads into it.

It LOOKS like a Harrington and Richardson Automatic Ejecting Revolver, calibre .32.
But considering your location and the fact that you do not mention any markings, I think it is a village made copy of that American revolver, possibly from Dara in Pakistan.

In the USA you could buy a good second hand Harrington and Richardson of the type for $50-$100.

i am from INDIA.
and $ 2000 is a equivalent to RS 100000.
and estimated worth of the revolver by a INDIAN army official is $5000 approx = rs 250000.

i guess thers sum confusion.

even though that may be the exchange rate for our currency to yours it may also be very high priced due to rarity in india.

in any case what you have there is a s&w top break in 32 s&w short, it may be something along the lines of an 1888 model, I'll try and find some more info

update:
yep, its a s&w 32 alright what you have there is the 4th model da revolver.

not sure about exact year it was made (though I'm fairly certain its pre 1900)

I have one very similar to it (the 2nd model) if it were in good shape it could be worth up to 500 but with that finish I doubt it

Webley & Scott? really? wow, its identical to the 4th model s&w, well it should still be a 32 s&w, I'll check up on the webly

update: all the 32 webleys I'm seing lack the "rib" on the top of the barrel which is present in most s&w and h&r revolvers of the era, hopefully old fuff will stip in and have more info

SO NOW, i wanna know if it is worth the amount we paid for it?..
and any more details on the model.

well regardless of what it is in america 2000 is far to high esspeacially for its condition and being bought in 1982 for that price, unless ofcourse firearms are simply unavailable there or it has some speacial story attached

veer1987,

Please understand that we (or maybe I should say at least me) are not at all familiar with market conditions in India - I do know, or have been told, that any foreign made, working revolver that is legal (or licensed), is very valuable on the Indian market as importation of foreign arms was stopped in the 1980's by your government. While $2000 seems obscenely high to us here in the states it may well be the going rate there; I have been told that S&W's and Colts bring much more.

Identifying the revolver is difficult with the info provided, it does not look like a Webly & Scott to me, can you provide better photos of the gun resting against a backdrop, both sides, and describe the markings in full?

Maker: Webley & Scott

Ain't no Webley. It's an H&R, Iver Johnson, etc. Maybe it's a no-name knock-off.

Veer1987:
Your photos prompt me to ask the following. If you want an identification, why do you make it near-impossible by covering half of it up with your hand?

To answer your question: $100-$125 US will get you a decent-to-nice one here.
