FINALLY!!! I have the elusive pistol in question. I can see enough of the proof marks on the side of that pistol to tell you it matches one I have. It's made in Italy and has a PSF proof mark. Left side of my barrel says, "F.I.E. MOD E15 CAL. .22LR MADE IN ITALY". Left side of frame says, "F.I.E. Miami FLA.". There's a serial # on bottom of frame in front of trigger. Right side of frame, has a cartouche of something crossed in a sheild with a star in a circle of leaves above it...a PSF with same star in circle of leaves above it...an AM in a box. Notice the hammer is cocked back slightly?...it has a hammer block safety on the left side that you operate with your thumb. They sold new for $69.00 around the mid-80's when Otasco stores were still in business. It is absolutely the most ear-ringing pistol I have ever shot...unheard of high pitched crack even shooting outdoors.

Missed something...on right side of frame, you can see it in your picture, it also has, "CAT. 885" with another cartouche with a star surrounded by a much fuller wreath with G V T surrounding it. All this is to the right of where you see the CAL 22LR in your picture.

i was thinking it was the fie but i was not sure so i did not say that it is the F.I.E. MOD E15 here a picture of one in Nickel i found online

I'd buy it for $50 without hesitation. A convertible.22 six shooter for $50? No brainer for me. I'd have a .22WMR truck gun or go-to-utility gun. I wouldn't have to be worried about scratches, etc. If it's a functional gun, at $50 it's almost a gift.

Buy it, provided it's fully functional. $50 is not much money these days. Heck you can get a convertible 22lr/22mag six-shooter for less than a tank of gas, and you're wondering if it's a good deal? Call your buddy and buy it.

Your F.I.E. is most likely a Tanfoglio single action, the granddaddy of the Rough Rider from Heritage Mfg.
Actually, I believe F.I.E. and Q.F.I. both ended up as the current Heritage Mfg.
Heritage used to offer their H-25-S version of the Tanfoglio GT25/GT27 pocket pistol which was sold by FIE as the Titan and QFI as the SA-25. I do know that at least Q.F.I. became Heritage Mfg. at one point in time. The current Heritage Rough Rider revolver has the same breech block safety as your F.I.E.
Note: the "GVT" marking most likely stands for "Gardone Val Trompia" where Tanfoglios are made.
Also note: Tanfoglio is a supplier/sub-contractor for Beretta.

For $50? Shoot safe and have fun.

It is an FIE model E15. I own one and shoot it quite a bit. I normally call it a $50 wheelie, so considering your getting the ammo and extras, it is well worth that price. You know what, I think we should have an FIE club here at THR, check the forum and join if you own one folks.

Does an F.I.E. Titan count for club membership?
Can we extend that to include the myriad of manufacturers which F.I.E. imported under their name; such as Tanfoglio, Rohm, and Erma?
