The first gun I ever owned, was my Daisy BB gun. Then at 14 I got my Winchester Model 57 .22 as a gift from my grandfather and then shortly after that, my parents got me my first shotgun, a Western Field 16ga. with modified choke. This was my "go to" gun for small game and birds. I also harvested my first deer with it using rifled slugs.

Pellet Gun

The first gun I was given at age 10 was an original Daisy Red Rider BB gun hand-me-down… still have it.

The first gun I bought at age 16 was a Sheridan pellet gun (that’s my “other” on the poll) and I passed it on to my LEO partner’s son.

Oh, if we're talking first guns given, it was a little gold Colt SAA cap gun replica from a local theme park. My great grandmother got it for me, actively ignoring my mom's explicit dislike of firearms. So that sparked it. Mom now has a couple of her own guns, and my great grandmother still talks about how much my mom hated it.

First gun was an old Winchester 69 Target. My dad traded it in for an Anschutz 1407 when I got better. Both .22s.

Not counting BB guns (Daisy Model 25), the first gun I owned was a JC Higgins 101.1 (Savage 94) .410 single given to me on my 12th birthday. First gun I bought was a Revelation 110-2140 (Marlin 783) bolt-action .22 which I bought at Western Auto when I was 14.

My first gun was a SIG P220 in 45 ACP. It was just fine as a learning gun and the double action/single action trigger made me focus upon trigger control as a skill. This has served me well over the years.

The first gun I bought for myself was a Winchester 1894AE in .30-30.
I had been given some BB rifles as a kid but I don't really count them as real "guns" ...or firearms.

I voted "other" because my first was a .22 magnum rifle, not a .22 LR.

I bought a brand, spanking new Marlin 783, bolt action, tube magazine .22WMR for my first gun when I turned 18. I had been looking at guns for months in anticipation of my 18th birthday before settling on that particular one. I wanted a .22 rifle mainly for plinking and small game/varmint hunting, but being a typical teenager I was also attracted to the power of a round with the word "magnum" appended to it.

Never regretted it and never looked back.

:)

My first gun was the .22lr because it was a Christmas present and I was 12.

At 16 I purchased a Remington Mod 742 Woodsmaster Carbine in .308 Win.

My first pistol was a Blackhawk in .357 when I was 21.

7.62x54R 91/30 Mosin was the first I paid for.

A Ruger Single Six .22LR pistol is the first I can remember shooting.

November, 1958 and it was a Remington 510P single shot 22. It was my first go hunting with the grown ups in Upstate NY. A friend of my uncle gave me the gun to carry so I dragged that rifle up and down the mountain all day (without ammo). Late afternoons I was given a box of 22s to shoot. When we were leaving after a great weekend my uncle's friend Charlie gave me the rifle as my own. I was 8 years old and today having recently turned 64 I still have that rifle.

My oldest brother recently gave me his .22 bolt action he's had since he was 12, when an uncle gave it to him. That was over 50 years ago, now. I intend to give it to my youngest daughter some day.

67 years ago I took a streetcar 9 miles to downtown & purchased a savage model 22410
I took it apart & brought it home in a paper bag. Dad was in WW 1 & 2---he didn't like guns----6 months later he found it-- I was lucky as he let me keep it.
My brother lost it in the wood--I replaced it with a model 24V--which I still have today

BB Gun when I was 5 or 6.

.22 Winchester rifle when I was 8.

12ga single- shot when I was 10.

.357 S&W & .45 ACP when I was 17, and a 30-06 shortly after that.
