I would vote for a CZ-455, or 452 or the new 457. I paid $297 for my new CZ-455 Standard a few months back, and it shoots very well with CCI Standard Velocity ammo. It even came with a very nice set of iron sights.Obviously, I need to clarify my question if the gun pictured above was the right answer.
What is the most accurate 22 LR rifle under 500 bucks and suitable for small game hunting?
Just picked up my Tikka t1x yesterday and hopefully will get out to the range tomorrow. For under $500 CZ or Tikka
Don't think that you need to spend $500.00 for a well performing .22 rifle. My .22 rifle is a bolt action Marlin XT-22RZ that I purchased new for just over $100 dollars. It has an adjustable trigger but I paid a gunsmith around $25.00 to smooth it out and it will cloverleaf shots together at 25 yards. This is a respectful distance for hunting with a .22 rifle.
Please show us how it does.Just picked up my Tikka t1x yesterday and hopefully will get out to the range tomorrow.
With that in mind I like the CZ guns. I have a CZ 452LH (Left Hand) American which is a real nice rifle that came in under your price point. I don't think the CZ 452 or 455 is still in production but you can likely find a slightly used one or another CZ variation. like the below:Obviously, I need to clarify my question if the gun pictured above was the right answer.

I have a 453 Varminter. Comes with heavy barrel and single set trigger. Dunno about the specifics on various CZ models, but I’d most strongly suggest the set trigger
Mine routinely shoots sub 1/2” with the correct ammunition and a solid bench. It’s got a 4-14x40 VX-3 scope
There's nothing wrong w/ a mono-stocked Lipsey's 10-22
