VERY hard to decide.
Purely based on the number of times I take them along when I go shooting, probably either my 4" S&W 15-3 or my 6" S&W 28.
Or maybe my 6" S&W 14,
Or the 6" 17 ... or even the 2" 640
My favorite is the 50th Anniv. .357 Blackhawk.
But I shoot the S&W Model-14 best.
The S&W Model-10 is my go-to gun, but I'd prefer a GP100 if not for the fact that I shoot 90% .38spl.
If I can make some thicker grips for the Blackhawk and get my accuracy with it up then there will be no contest.
S&W Model 15, 4", bought new in Dec '72 from Montgomery Ward for $105.57 (including the tax) --- no different at that time than buying a pair of jeans.
Because I'm experimental I like my Dan Wesson .357 mag model 14 with fixed sights. I can take it apart and work on its interior because I bought spare parts on ebay. I leveled the front face of the cylinder with sand paper for an even barrel gap all around on all chambers and sanded the deep curve of the frame to allow the swinging arm that holds the cylinder to settle in deeper for better timing. The 8" barrel is for home defense, the 4" barrel for occasional concealed carry. The grip is thin, slim while large, making it ride close to my body, concealed under a shirt. The diameter of the cylinder is very small for being a six shooter, good for concealment. The gun frame is stronger built than a S&W .357. With CorBon .38 +p it's on bull's eye but with magnums it's 1.5 inches high, 1.5 inches to the left at 15 yards.
Tough question; it's a toss up between my Model 17-8
or my model 19-7 Performance Center K-Comp
Both are fun to shoot, but don't really serve the same purposes.
This is a very tough decision. "Favorite" can mean what do you enjoy or what do you use the most. I mostly use a snubby, but it's not the one I enjoy shooting the most. In the end, I narrowed it down to my favorite revolvers to shoot -- one Smith and one Colt.
SW, pre-M&P Target Model .38 spl, circa 1928, great balance, great fit for me, and a very nice trigger:
Colt Officer's Model Match, .38 special, circa 1967. Best trigger of any revolver I own, including Pythons.
Without a doubt mine is the 6" 66-2 that my father bought new in 1982. After his passing it has me watching over it until we get together again. A trigger job has every rangemaster and trainer who's tried it drooling.
