What's your favorite shotgun?

My Benelli M1S90 is my favorite that I own. 9+1 capacity and auto feeding. It's a riot to speed shoot. I'm sure there's a shotgun out there that I like more than mine, but I haven't come across it yet. Maybe a benelli M4... Gas operated sounds nice, but I have yet to shoot one.

I have to go with the Browning twelve gauge Double Auto I bought new in 1961. Shot a couple of grouse with it last week. I also am very fond of a little Merkel sxs, chambered in 20 gauge.

Winchester Model 21 in 16ga. Was made in 1936 and belonged to my great-grandfather. I still shoot it any time I can.

Of all the shotguns i own(ed) my fav in my Krieghoff,

It just keeps on, keeping on!

It doesn't hurt that it's stocked to fit ME, either. :)

20 gauge 870 Special Field for me. My go to shotgun for hunting and clay targets.

870 Wingmaster for 99% of my uses. A Breda O/U, a Pedersoli percussion, and a 500 for the other few duties I have.

Personally only ever owned one shotgun. It's my Winchester SXP. Action slick as butter.
Does everything I want it to do, fit's me well, and it's not another Mossberg or Remington (it's better) :p

I'm not a pump or semi-auto guy because I just like the way a well-fitted O/U or side-by-side feels and shoots for me. After shooting and even owning quite a few shotguns over the years, my favorites, and the ones that I still own; a Remington 3200 (my favorite, best-fitting, most-deadly-in-my-hands shotgun I've ever used), and a simple old Fox Model B 20-ga. side-by-side which isn't fancy or expensive, but like the 3200, fits me and hits what I'm looking at.

I also have a '54 model Browning Auto-5 that I made into a HD gun. I admire that gun a lot for the workmanship and quality, but it's not my choice for wing shooting or target shooting.

Questions like these are difficult to answer as when a shotgunner gets a new toy it generally becomes his new favorite at least for a period of time. If asked what my favorite of all time is it'd be the Winchester 12, but most used now? Remington 870 wingmaster. I never could shoot my O/U's or SxS's any better than a wingmaster except on doubles, but they fail miserably on triples! :D I never did warm up to my semi auto's either, but am considering getting another one.

1955 Model 12 with ventilated rib and cutts compensator. It was my dad's. He put a beavertail forearm on it and checkered it himself. It has shot more game than I can remember. My brothers and I called it "Meat on the Table" It's not worth a lot but I wouldn't take a million dollars for it. A close second is my 1970 Remington 1100 in .410

I have to say my favorite shotgun is my Winchester Model 12 28" modified field gun in 12 ga. It has the smoothest, slickest and most reliable action. I've used it for hunting more than any of my other shot guns.

What's your favorite shogun?

MY NEXT ONE. lol.

...to quote a friend of mine.

Seriously, however... I am looking forward to shooting my next shotgun; a lil' semiauto I've just DROS'd (10-day wait in CA) so that my wife may have something comfortable to hold and shoot:

A Remington 1100 LT-20 SPECIAL, (21" barrel, English-style stock).

That said, I love my Wingmasters and also my S&W Model 3000 made by Howa.

Another Beretta AL391 fan here. Usually I am toting a 20ga.
Have a 390 that is a very sweet shooter as well.

Up until about a month ago I would have said a Mossberg 500 hands down. I have owned several 500's over the years and have never had a single issue with any of them. But I picked up a Russian made Remington 20ga SXS that has now taken the top role and my first choice for home defense or just out shooting paper. I have given Ithica's, 870's and a few others to my grandsons but still favor the Mossberg 500 for function and dependability.

No love for the Browning Citori? I love mine. It points well and swings smoothly. Doesn't get much better than that for me. :D

Favorite shotgun

I have 3,12 gauge shotguns. A Maverick 88, short barrel, synthetic stock for home defense, a Remington 870 express with 26" barrel, synthetic stock and a Remington 1100 semi auto with wood stock. They all have their advantages, the Maverick is just fine for home defense, the 870 is a nice, light hunter but the 1100 is my favorite. With nice wood, recoil absorbing action and nice balance. I might part with the other two but not the 1100.
