If someone tries to steal anything from you...you are in grave danger and must be prepared to fight for your life...I don't want the outcome to be up to the violent predator to decide.
I was watching an interview with a gentleman in California not too long ago, who had been in multiple self defense situations because thieves continually attempted to rob his shop. He told the interviewer that the turning point for him was when one of the neighboring shopkeepers was murdered after a robbery. He said it was at that point he decided he would not be a victim and would not give the criminal the decision of whether he (the shopkeeper) would live or die. He applied this same logic when a thief came at him with a drawn gun. He said he chose to take the chance on being shot, and rely on his skills to prevent it, instead of giving the thief the choice of whether or not to take his life.
Like many have stated, this is how I view the use of deadly force. It is not what is trying to be taken, it is the choice to take your own like into your hands, out of the hands of the criminal.
So to answer the question of the OP, no I would not kill for my car; I would kill to prevent myself from becoming a victim at the mercy of a criminal.
