So, what position do you guys carry your IWB rigs? I'm a pretty large guy and just got my Crossbreed Supertuck. So far I'm really impressed with it. Good fit and finish, comfortable, retention is great, etc.

But I cannot find a position that does not print the gun. I'm attempting to conceal my G19. But no matter where I put it the very bottom of the grip seems to print like crazy.

So where do you big guys carry IWB?

-1-Have you adjusted cant?
-2-What are you using for a belt?
-3-What cover garment?

I pack with the front ST belt clip at the widest point of my right hip, and the pistol is obviously behind that.

Try adjusting the clip's heights until the Kydex shell is about even with your pant's waistline and the grip is help in tightly.
See the pictures I posted long ago here on THR, that's the angle that works for me and I've left it like that since October, it seems.

3 o'clock for me. But I have a shoulder problem that makes it a little difficult to reach back farther. Even so, 3 o'clock is still the most comfortable wearing position, regardless of reaching it. I'm 325, FWIW. And I use a Beltster.

Dave, thanks for the reply.

I did adjust the ride depth. I moved the clips up one notch each so the top of the kydex is about level with the top of my jeans.

As for the belt, right now i'm just using some belt I bought at sears. I can't CCW where I live this is for when I travel to VA and PA which is often, and for when I go on vacation soon to the Keys. I do have a Wilderness Tactical 5 stich on the way. I would never use this stupid belt. But I figured I could use it in my house just to get an idea of how much I will be printing.

My cover garment is just an extra long polo shirt. Usually I'd try to wear a white t shirt with some sort of overshirt.

A stiffer belt will hold the pistol in tighter to your side, and fiddling with the cant will help as well.
How effective is the firearms exclusion in MD?
It seems like it would be expensive to magically restrict guns to the interior of homes, is it a force-field or do you get frisked every time you walk out the front door? Metal detectors at every doorway, perhaps?

Adjusting the can't forward might be a good idea. I guess ill try adjusting the front clip up ANOTHER notch. That might put the gun a little too low but ill try it. Thanks!

IWB ~4 o'clockish works best for me. I can carry a 4" K frame .357 in that position, all day long with a good holster and belt.

A gun prints because your covering garment is not large enough and loose enough. It's like a fat woman who wears tight clothes. Supersize. Baggy pants. Loose shirts. Wearing a concealed weapon pretty much means any fashion sense has to be left at the door. I'm sure many will disagree but I have carried for many years (including places where it's verboten) and never been made. I've had friends ask if I was carrying because they couldn't spot it many times. Last evening while out on the motorcycle I stopped at a pulloff to take a break and a State cop pulled in just to check if I was broke down or something (thank you) and I talked to him for 30 minutes or so about motorcycles and stupid drivers and firearms and I could tell he was looking for a bulge but he didn't make me. (in this state we have no requirement to inform)

I'm with Drail, change yor wardrobe a bit! I use the K-holster, which is very similar to the supertuck. Keep adusting both the cant and depth of the gun untl you find the spot. I carry at about the 8'oclock position (I'm a lefty) or the 4 o'clock with the butt forward. I wear baggy shirts, pants one size bigger than needed and the cops have never made me. Heck, my family doesn't usually know!

Usually the Supertuck rides right around 4 o'clock. I would suggest a strong belt (I love mine from Fox Creek leather) and one size bigger shirt.

I'm a big ol' boy (48-50" waist, depending on cut of pants) and agree completely: if I try to carry IWB, tucked, it looks like I have a tumor hanging off my hip. So, for me, IWB needs to be covered by an untucked polo or sport shirt. I have a good belt (Looper leather) but I can't pull it tight enough to get rid of the lump and be even somewhat bearable.

I have a Crossbreed QuickClip for my LCR that I really like. If I'm not going to be sitting a lot, I set it up for appendix carry. From a front-on presentation it's basically unnoticable - even tucked in - if I blouse the shirt a bit.

I have a couple holsters - all good manufacture: Galco, CompTac, and the QuickClip - that when I go strong-side IWB, I wind up with the 7:00-8:00 position (I'm a lefty). It gets my luv handles out of the way, helps keep the bulge off of the side of my hip, and sits comfortably.

I don't carry IWB, too much of me in there already making it very uncomfortable.
I mostly carry OWB (quality belts and holsters make all the difference), occasionally I'll use pocket, ankle, and shoulder holsters, when they're more appropriate for the occasion.

I am 6'3" tall and weigh 260 lbs (down from 360) and am a pretty big guy.

I carry concealed with a Smart Carry Security V (see pic) and just can't say too many good things about it.

In this SC is my CZ PCR, an extra mag, a Kershaw Junk Yard Dog, and a Streamlight Stylus. My usual choice of trouser is either relaxed fit jeans or Dockers and this combo absolutely does not print under either.

Like any holster that I have ever had the SC takes some adjusting to get it just right. I wear mine at about 1 O'Clock and it really does work for me. It is my EDC and will be for the foreseeable future.

I wear my jeans around the hips (big beer belly, otherwise I'd have to find 57" waist jeans to fit around said beer belly...forget that), approx 4-5 o`clock, using a IWB holster with a very high belt clip. This allows me to not print, and be almost impossible to detect even when my overshirt is riding up over my belt due to the entire pistol being just under the top edge of my belt....all they'd see is a strange bend in my belt where the floorplate of my magazine is.

I'm carrying a SCCY CPX-1. If I had a DB380 or P3AT, it would be impossible to detect at all.

Here's the secret:

1. You need a good, stiff belt.

2. You need to buy loose clothing. Shirts should be long-tailed -- the more they hang below the waist, the better.

To put on a "tuckable" start fully dressed and unbuckle your belt. Instert the holster where you want it -- between 3:00 and 4:00 works best for most people.

Now insert the gun. Put one hand on your gig line (the line of your fly, belt buckle and shirt buttoms) to keep it straight. Pull your shirt out from behind the gun only. The rest of the shirt stays tucked in. Now tuck that part between holster and pants.

Position the holster where you want it by holding it there with one hand while you pull your belt tight. Once your belt is tight, "blouse" your shirt -- pull some of it out, all around and let it hang over your belt and buckle.

Do this and your printing problems will go away.

How fast is the draw out of that thing in any position but standing with your fly open?

With practice I can secure my gun, draw, and present it in just about the same time that it takes me to sweep a cover garment so that I can reach my gun when I a carrying IWB. Perhaps a bit quicker. Just use left hand (I am right handed) to pull belt a bit forward and the butt of the gun is right there to grasp and draw. As I said it takes practice but it is really not a big deal. Develop some muscle memory and the speed does increase.

Drawing while sitting is not much of a problem either. Since I wear the SC at about 12:30 to 1:00 the action for drawing is much the same. Move the belt forward then grasp and draw. For me it is easier to draw from my SC while sitting than it is from an IWB while sitting - particularly in a car.

for myself....drawing is single handed, and very fast. return to holster on the other hand, is difficult.

Part of that is the cheapy holster I'm using (once I get cash to have a custom version made, I'll go that route)...the cheap holster is made of glove leather, and is pretty rough on the inside...water soak and oven baking it a few times helped reduce that issue a bit though, as it made the leather less tacky, allowing for the pistol to slide in with some coaxing.

Honestly, my next holster will probably be a half-leather, half Kydex custom....leather on the body side, kydex on the clothing side.

About 4 o'clock works well for me. Its about the position were the love handle turn into my big a**. Anything positioned towards my front pokes me in the belly.
