Same time period 10.98 for 9mm WWB to todays 16.88 is an increase of 53%.

i would buy em out every payday if it were that cheap... its $18.52 a pack now

I have to second all the Walmart suggestions. I haven't found rimfire ammo cheaper anywhere else, even in cases, and not even from the wholesalers that I do business with.

I have to go along with Walmart. Had good luck with the Federal, not so good with the Remington Golden.

Picked up four more boxes of Federal at Wallyworld last night. I am close to two stores...one is being converted to a Super Walmart...so lots of construction for the new food section. They cleared out the ammo and sent in back to the warehouse till the sporting good area is moved...which one guy told me may be a "few weeks."

So I now have to go to the other store which has little ammo left. I hope to get some more money today and buy what they have of the remaining Federal .22 and the WWB in 9mm.

I hope to secure about 10,000 rounds of .22's...is this crazy? I figure stock up now as the price will probably go up a few bucks this summer.

My favorite is Federal 714 at Dick's for $19.99 a brick.

.22
In July it was the same for me. But, yesterday in the Fairfax, VA Dick's they wanted $25/brick !!

.45
The Dick's UMC ammo was better then Walmart tho'. Walmart Remington UMC .45 was $81/250 yesterday, and Fairfax was $14.98 per 50 on Sale.
( ~$1.20 per 50 cheaper.)

I just went to Wally World and bought a 500 box of Federal 510 and it cost me 14.70.

I buy the Federal Champion 510 (blue box) at WalMart for $1.28 per box of 50 so about $12.80 per brick

Not anymore. It is either $1.47 or $1.77 per box of 50 depending on which walmart you go to.

Walmart is still the best place to buy bulk 22 ammo as far as I'm concerned. If you buy online, buy in case lots (5,000 rounds). Still cheaper at Walmart for the regular stuff.

Blazer ammo is not bad at about $20 per brick (500 rounds). Walmart doesn't sell it however.

One word

Cabelas

Not around here...South Dakota has 2 Cabelas, and neither one can come remotely close to matching Walmart's price. In fact, Walmart had Federal bulk 550 packs for 11.47, but a bulk back of 500 Federals was over 16 bucks at cabelas. Around here, WEalmart beats Cabelas on ALL ammo (at least ammo Wally world carries, anyway)

I second the guy who said Cabelas.

The one in Hoffman Estates has Federal Premium .22 hollow point 525 round bulk packs for $14.99. I have bought 12 of them so far.

I've been from Albuquerque to Las Cruces, 5 Walmarts, 2 Sportsmans Warehouses, three gun shops.
Sorry to report only Walmarts have a selection of 22lr and the best prices on any of it. Hard to find much subsonic/standard velocity. The S.W. and gunshops have very little quanitity or variety, and higher prices.

My walmart has Federal bulk packs for about $13.48. Thier Winchester Expert bulk packs are &12.98. First time Ive seen them sell the Winchester for les than the Federal.

14.47 last night at Wal Mart...About that "handgun or rifle" thing...Y'all may already know this, but I asked one night why they asked that question and the cashier snagged a manager who was walking by and the mgr said that when you indicate "handgun" the security camera snaps your picture.

I've noticed at our Wal Mart that the men almost never ask, and the women almost always ask...I suspect that the men just punch the "rifle" key and forget it.

Walmarts in New Mexico are sold out since before Christmas.
The Federal bulk pack of 550rnd are $13.47, and the Federal 510 is $1.47 per 50 round box.
How come the price discrepancy, and availabilty across the country??
This Walmart will not let me special order 22's.

$1.47/50 and $13.47/525 is standard Walmart price around here. You can not special order 22lr ammo from walmart, they are alloted as much as they can from warehouse, it usually lasts less than a day on the shelf. I was told current dealer cost on the cases of bulk work out to $11 a box wholesale, so don't think you are going to find it cheaper elsewhere unless your a dealer.

At my local Wallyworld, most of the bulk .22LR is 36gr (Federal, Winchester, Rem); the only 40gr I could find was a 325rd box of Federal's Automatch, which at $14 and change is no bargain.

Not low cost, but that Federal Automatch is really good ammo, though. My pickiest .22s approve of it. And they must be female, because they're damn hard to please. ;)

"I have to go along with Walmart. Had good luck with the Federal, not so good with the Remington Golden."

I've gotta say wallyworld too, even though I'm inherently against their practices. Also agree %100 about the remington crap. BTW, what ever happened to the 1000, 1500, 2500 round "milk" cartons I used to buy? I tried some of that BlazerBrass .40S&W people keep talking about, that stuff is pure garbage. The only use I can find for it is maybe if you are trying to build up a supply of brass for reloading....It is not crimped and fails to burn completely, lots of black soot on spent casings, poor ejection....

CMP is the way to go. Might be a bit more expensive, but it goes bang when you pull the trigger and there are no problems with feeding. Accuracy is good enough. Before you order a ton of ammo make sure your firearm shoots it because some 22s are very picky on what they like. just my 2 cents
