If I wasn't a handloader, I would be paying a lot of money for the Spicier hunting loads (what are they now a buck or 1.50 a shot), and downloaded target/plinking loads are basically non-existent on the factory market. The "regular" 10mm factory loads out there are running 180s about 1,200-1,250, which is no slouch, but I'd be seriously questioning whether I "needed" the cartridge for 45+p or hot 40 s&w performance (plus a narrow margin more)

An alternative perspective: One could simply buy a .40S&W conversion barrel (or not depending on how they felt about headspacing on the extractor) and shoot mostly .40 for target loads. But still have a factory spec gun that is more powerful than .45+p. And if someone's looking for premium heavy loads and doesn't handload, they're paying a similar price regardless of the cartridge.

I actually got rid of my .45s when I got my 10mm. No practical reason to keep them, as the .45acp can't do anything I want doing that the 10mm can't do with ease.

I finally purchased my 10mm. I went with a Glock 20 Gen 5. As a lefty I like the dual slide release and reversible mag release. Which I switch already.
I have not been to the range yet with it. Hope to find time next week.
I have only owned one other Glock that was a 22c about 20 years ago. Didn't like it, but as a revolver guy I really didn't give it a good chance.
I am truly looking forward to spending the time and rounds down range to get use to this pistol. I will share a range report when I get a few bullets down range.

Congratulations. Hope it treats you well and you like it. Not sure if you are in shotgun zone only for deer hunting but possible you can use it. I hunted in shotgun zones around Manitowoc but used my revolvers. Looking forward to your impressions after some shooting

My hunting areas have always been a rifle area. I did hunt with revolvers during doe only seasons a few times....

I know some here have had good luck with their M&P 2.0 in 10mm but I am not happy with mine. It will not feed a full mag without at least one ftf. Nose up and catches the edge of the slide. She has been back to the mother ship and they say they fixed it by polishing the chamber and ramp. Well it's still doing the same thing with 4 different factory 180s. I know exactly what to do when this keeps happening. Move on...

Only one I have is a G20 Gen. 4. It’s also the only Glock I have. I don’t hunt, so that is not a consideration for me. I like the weight, size, capacity, and accuracy well enough that I stopped right there with the 10mm. Ammo and components are just too expensive to take on more to feed right now. Sorry I can’t provide a comparison to the others, but I give the G20 a thumbs up (after the slimmer grip was introduced).

After issues with my M&P 4.6 I went to my LGS and compared the new Gen5 MOS 20 to the Sig XTen. The grip, straight trigger pull and night sights won out with the XTen. The XTen was about 2 bills more but I just like the way the sig felt and pointed. We shall see at the range this week...

I’m currently undecided between the Sig XTen and the FN 510. Really wish FN would bring out an FNX Tactical 10MM.

Looked at the 510 as well. It's a nice pistol. I just personally didn't care for the threaded barrel. Of course you cannot get one without. Suppressors are fine but I'm not going down that road personally...

I ran a box of 180 FMJ Federal American Eagle through the Glock 20 today. I have some work to do with it, but I like the gun.

My question is should I put an RMR/red dot on it ?
Red dot is a personal choice. I have one on my 20. My Kimber and Sti do not and I am ok with them.
I shot low and left with Glocks if I do not focus totally on grip. I am also right handed so low and left is not uncommon. If memory serves you are left handed, so low and right is not uncommon

Personal preference and I fought it for years until I put a cheap one on my MKIV. My groups tightened up a bunch especially with my old eyes. I'm putting the Eotech EFLEX on my xten since it has the same foot print as the DPP and Sig Romeo 2 which mount directly to the slide. We'll see how it goes...

I’m waiting on a suppressor to get approved for my pistols but not sure I’d want to suppress a 10MM. Would definitely go with the heaviest .400 bullet I could find during load development if I did.

I'm thinking of getting my first 10mm and I want it to be a 1076. It would also be my first "collector" gun. It's a police issue for $1,400. Idk what to do yet but if I was going 10mm I would get a 1076.

I just submitted an offer to the seller. I'm making this happen (God willing).
