Picked up the X Ten the other day and took it to the range. Ran 100 rounds of range fodder with no failures. Went back and put the dot on her and headed back to the range. A lttle low right out of the box. Adjusted it and bingo. As I mentioned I fought using dots for years. When you get almost 70 and your eyes don't play well anymore, the dot is a game changer. No I won't be putting dots on the revolvers but they just plain work.

my only 10mm at the time and she shoots beautifully. These targets are from 20 yards. My recommendation would have been this fn 510 tactical but I’m probably gonna end up with the Glock 20 gen5 as well in the near future. Can’t go wrong with a Glock if it fits you, those guns just run.

My first I picked up back in the early 80's was the IAI Javelina. I was told by several folks at the ranges how much they were a piece of junk. It has however been extremely accurate, and accounted for numerous feral hogs. It will hold a tighter group than I can out to 75yds and has done well with the 180gr Gold Dot at around 1300fps.

I decided to pick up another one a couple of years back and decided to go with the G40 and I swapped the barrel out for the comped KKN barrel. It has been a hoot to shoot but isn't much for a carry piece unless you have something like the Denali cross draw chest holster. I like to wear mine when I am mowing due to the feral hogs that will lay up in the tall grass and brush at the farm. They will wait till your right on top of them and get up with the "well if your gonna come through" type attitude. It's happened more then once and with the 10mm and chest holster they get a bit more for their trouble.

How does the grip size compare between the G20 and the 510?

I bought the XDm 10MM Elite due to ergonomics but that 510 is just something I like based on the web videos. Haven’t seen one in person yet.

I haven’t held them side by side for comparison but I’d say the grips are a bit chunky on both. My 510 has the biggest grip of any handgun I own, but it’s also my only 10mm at the moment. In the past I didn’t like the grip on the full size 10mm Glocks but the gen5 does feel better imho. I think the fn’s have better overall ergonomics, but that’s just my personal opinion. I have 4 Glocks and 1 fn so my purchase history would say otherwise lol. I think the XDM will have the best ergonomics of the 3. I had bad luck with a XD years ago and it left a bad taste in my mouth so I stay away from them since I lost confidence in that platform of pistol.

Thanks.

There is something very interesting about the FN for me. But I’m pretty much a Glock guy in 9MM, but Gen 4 large frames are big for my grip.

Probably will just stick with what I have…but would love to hear a side by side comparison of the G20-5 and 510

The acro is a huge mailbox of a sight. I mounted it to my xten and it never left the gun room. mid I decide to put an optic on. It’ll be a leupold delta point pro. I have one on my wife’s xcarry and it’s nice. View attachment 1154103 View attachment 1154104 View attachment 1154105
Those mailbox sights just don’t do it for me, even though I’m sure they shoot great. I’m thinking about throwing one on one of my ar’s but as far as mounting one on a pistol it’s just too big and blocky for my taste.

I used Gunbroker for the first time last week and took delivery of this big bore beauty today. S&W 1076. Used police issue w/ factory letter and recalls accounted for. I hope that means it’s a shooter. Unfortunately, magazines run $180. Regardless, I could not be happier. My heart is soaring.
Nice pistol. Hopefully it shoots as good as you want it to.

I ended up going down this road after having issues with the 2.0 in which made a trip back to the mother-ship/ and still was not right. The X Ten runs well with range fodder and my reloads. 180 gr coated with a nice load of AA9. Loaded up some with the XTP as well and they run just fine. I really like the Eotech dot as I mentioned elsewhere. The X Ten handles the recoil much better than the 2.0. There is not a lot of holster choices around for the X Ten but I'm going with this Mitch Rosen. Just need to get it broken in. She will make a fine hog pistol as I try and keep them at bay around here and at my hunting property...

Don't like semi-auto rounds in revolvers. JMO. To many nice semi-autos out there to use a wheel gun.

I'm a revolver guy first, but not a huge fan of semiautomatic cartridges in revolvers. With so many good revolver cartridge choices.
If you are a revolver nut and want to try semiautomatic cartridges then go for it! Have fun!!!!
There is one semiautomatic cartridge revolver that I would like. A S&W 1917 45acp. The history is a big part of it!!!

Hold on fellas. There is nothing wrong with having a 4" S&W 610 to go with a semi auto 10mm. Sometimes a guy just wants to carry a revolver and it makes sense to have one in a caliber that one already has in a semi auto. Also with the semi Auto mag you have a faster than speed strip reload. Possibly not as fast as the speed loader but certainly faster than one at a time from pocket or strip

I have the M&P 2.0 and a RIA 1911 with a rail. The 1911 has a Leupold DPP on it,and it's a fine pistol for hunting white tails and possibly a bear if the need should arise. The M&P is the pistol I keep in my truck. It's the short barrel version, and I really like the way it feels and shoots.I also have a Performance Center 40 with a ported barrel to practice with.
