Which gun company do YOU love?

I've contemplated a thread asking...

If you could only buy all your guns, in all types, from one manufacturer, which one would you choose?

I'd answer Ruger with Remington falling in 2nd place.
I really wish they (either of the two above) would make black rifles and even 1911s. Far fetched, I know.
Their feeble attempts with the Mini14 and the R-15 is a bit transparent.
I wish they would just jump right in like S&W did and go all the way.

I've often thought Ruger should start making AKs. Rugers are known for being tank-tough and reliable as all get out and so is the Kalashnikov. Ruger and the Kalashnikov are two things that would go together like toast and jam.

Nighthawk Custom

Not only does Nighthawk makes some of the world's finest production 1911s, but their customer service is quite good. They did some very good and timely aftermarket work for me and years later, when I broke an extractor and thumb safety (after tens of thousands of rounds of ABUSE!), they replaced the checkered and hard chromed parts at no cost to me. Good phone service, great products, fast turn around times...Nighthawk is the only gun company that stands out in my mind as exceptional.

I have a soft spot for Dan Wesson, if only because my first gun was a Dan Wesson. The revolvers with interchangeable barrels are also something that I really dig.

I read about the great service you've gotten when parts break, fall apart, etc.

I pick GLOCK because after carry one every day for over a decade as a LEO, qualifying and never having a FTF, and target shooting with it with no problems, I've never needed a part or factory assistance.

To me that is the best reason to praise a product or company.

Milt Sparks, Natchez Shooters Supply, Springfield Armory, Cabelas, Ed Brown, S&W, Kimber.

I've had excellent results with all of those I've mentioned, and I use all of them frequently.

I'm a big fan of the fine vintage Walther line of firearms, but the current company, overseen by Umarex, is nothing to get excited about.

I also think that the S&W folks have a fine customer service department; but considering the quality of some of the guns they are producing these days, they'd better.

I LOVE CZ, I've had nothing but tremendous success with them, and their quite the value for my money.

Great luck with Dillon, bought a SDB used on ebay, they sent me a brand new powder measure assembly. The priming unit doesn't work on it, but I'd feel guilty about getting more free stuff considering how little I payed for my press.

The technical line for Sierra Bullets is great, I've called them a few times with some dumb and a couple of pretty technical questions. They were very patient with me, it was great.

I stopped by X-Treme Bullet's factory on my way to Carson City. They were loading a truck, guy got off his forklift to sell me 1,000 147grain 9mm bullets and was very pleasant about it all. I like that!

The ones I avoid:

Colt- It would take a miracle for me to ever buy anything from Colt again, after my nightmare with my totally unshootable Combat Commander and how their warranty department turned it from a pretty paperweight into a scratched up one, that still rarely made it through a single magazine without some sort of issue.

Kimber- A friend's continuing saga of trying to fix his overpriced 1911 has totally turned me off to them. I don't have any use for overpriced 1911's, no matter how pretty they are.

Baer- Same nonsense as above, but they have made some progress in making his overpriced 1911 into a somewhat functioning weapon, that if held JUST right, with an iron grip, will run a little. Most of the time. With FMJ ammo. With HP stuff, forget it.

The ones I like:

CZ-never a problem, and I shouldn't have sold my CZ-75B.

Beretta- never any problems, and I would have, and did, trust my life to the guns they made.

EAA-People say bad things about them, but I never have had any issues and their guns all seem to be great. I ordered a couple of parts and they showed up quickly and while not cheap, were not insanely priced like some importers do their parts.

Springfield Armory = XD pistols
Remington = Model 700 rifles, rifle ammo
Berry's = component bullets
Wolf = primers, 7.62x39 ammo
Cabela's, MidwayUsa, Wideners = shooting supplies

Kel-Tec, they make all kinds of neat, original guns at reasonable prices. Like the SUB-2000 or the SU-16 or the little P3AT.
