Who regularly shoots a gun older than they are??

I have a bunch of guns from 1924 up to 2020 vintage. The older ones are my favorites to shoot, generally speaking, and are the most likely to get taken on shooting trips.

Favorite rifle is a 1938 Winchester Model 52.
Favorite shotgun is probably the Auto 5 from 1954.
Not older than me, but favorite handgun is the Browning International Medalist from 1971.

I often use my William Ford duck shotgun (1936) for sporting clays and quail.
Well until last year I was shooting a 1920 Winchester Old Model 94 in 30/30. It was gifted to me over 48 years ago by my father-in-law. He bought in 1930 from a guy who brought it brand new and only shot it a few times. When I received it, the bluing was fully intact no rust and very tight. I My father-in-law said he had only shot it a couple of times and was basically a shotgun man. He told me both his sons do not hunt and since we hunt together, he gave it to me. I have since passed it to my oldest son who is retired Army. I have shot many a deer with it.

I only own one gun older than me a Browning A5 that my dad gave me when I was about 12 years old . I have used that gun longer than any gun that I own and it is my favorite , but I don’t shoot it as much anymore .

I have numerous firearms that are older than I am and they all get some use here and there, but the one that gets the most use is a Remington Model 33 inherited from my uncle.

My primary turkey gun is my Dad's Remington model '97 pump shotgun he bought when he came back from the South Pacific after WWII. My primary pheasant gun is my Grandpa's Fox Model B he bought when he came back from France after WWI. He also bought a Winchester model 94 at the same time. While I don't use it for hunting anymore(Only use handguns nowadays), my youngest son has taken several deer with it. My primary rifle for deer for 30 years was a Model 1917 Eddystone that I bought out of a barrel at Montgomery Wards in the 70s. Put Williams sights on it and a Herter's stock. Still shots like a laser.

My Winchester and Browning shotguns pre date me by a decade and more.
I have a pair of pin fire revolvers that were passed from heir to heir. The stories are long lost. I have never fired them.

Two of the six firearms that are older than me get a range visit regularly.

A 1927 Colt Officer's Model .38 Special with a 7 1/2" barrel;

...and a 1937 Smith and Wesson K22 Outdoorsman .22LR:

Both are tight, accurate, and fun to shoot.

Great minds run in the same groove. These inspired my similar topic, "Older Than Me", found in this same forum.

The majority of my guns are older than I am but since getting my eye issues resolved I haven't had much opportunity regularly shoot them. When looking at my bayonet collection I too would rather be shot by them than bayoneted.

I generally hunt several times a year for squirrels with my Great great great grandfathers .35 caliber percussion muzzleloader. The rifle has a 39" octagon barrel and was made sometime in the mid 1840's/
