i had a older m-8 3x leupold scope that devoloped a light haze over the years and put it on a .22, i finaly sent it in to be refurbed and was informed they no longer made the m-8 3x scope, but they would send me a FX-11 3x20 big bore new from the custom shop, with 1/4 clicks no less. i recieved it today. i wonder if their are any other scope makers in the world who would do that. eastbank.

I have some other scopes that I like better in some ways. But if the rifle absolutely, positively has to work, I have a Leupold on it. Leupold is the only brand I'd feel good about purchasing used.

Can't argue with that! I saw that type of customer service from Leupold from at the shops I worked at over the years, and I have owned several Leupolds over the years, and wouldn't hesitate to buy one now.

I have heard similar stories at the local gun shop. This is why I also buy Leupold scopes.

In shooting heavy recoiling handguns, several of my scopes have broken including a couple of Leupolds. Unlike Bushnell who wouldn't honor the "lifetime" warranty on their "Recoil Proof" handgun scope saying it had been "abused," the ones I sent to Leupold were promptly repaired at no charge. That kind of service is why I have at least 15 Leupold scopes.

I know there are other great scope manufacturers out there but for my money I alway end up buying a leupold when the need arises.

That kind of customer service goes a long way in creating loyal customers. IME, Burris is also very good in that regard. I bought a used FFII 4.5-14x42 that was claimed to be like new. When it arrived it had clearly been abused with the tube crushed to the point that I couldn't make it focus clearly at any distance. I sent it to Burris and asked them to give me a quote on a repair or replacement. I didn't even check the warranty beforehand, and wouldn't have expected them to honor a warranty because the scope had been damaged by the user. About two weeks later a free, NIB replacement showed up via UPS. Turned out I liked the scope so much that I bought 3 more of them and they are still among my favorites to use because they are just so clear and pleasant to look through.

Leupolds have never been the best fit for my eyes, but if some one ask I ALWAYS recommend them. I just sent a scope in, one of my few leupolds, for repairs that it got from me falling on it. I talked to a customer rep on the phone, they were very pleasant and are getting my scope taken care of. WONDERFUL customer service, and ill continue to recommend them, even if I dont use them very offten.

as an aside, Ive had similar service from Nikon, thus i own quite a few of those.

I purchased a budget Leupold, the Rifleman in 3-9x40 and like the scope just fine.
The darn things didn't come with any caps or cover though.

I emailed Leupold not expecting much. I was just like, "Come on guys. $50 scopes come with scope caps. Why don't you include something to protect the lenses?"
I got an email back asking for my mailing address. Three days later I got a neoprene scope cover in the mail. lol

I've used Leupolds for 50+ years and have never experienced any issue with them! That is why I use them and recommend them.

I have several Leupolds, but for my latest build I installed a Vortex Viper. It also comes with a lifetime "no questions asked" warranty. Hoping it stands up the same as Leupold's. Though I haven't had any problems with my scopes so far. (Knocking on wood!)

Got my first Leupold in 1979 used, from a buddy of mine, a straight 12x; still got it and it's still great. Have 8 or 9 other Leupolds currently. I've always heard those stories about their fantastic customer service but I have zero personal experience with it because in all those years I've never had a problem with a Leupold scope. I've got a couple low budget scopes, (Like a 2-7x BSA on a 10/22 plinker/squirrel gun). But any of my "serious" guns that have optics all have Leupolds.

I've used Leupy VX-3/R, Zeiss Conquests, Vortex Viper and Razors and NightForce NXS scopes, the latter two for my precision .308 and .260 rifles. Most recently, I put a Leupy VX-R Patrol on a Colt AR-15 6920 flat top upper that I use with my old school Colt AR15A2 . Customer service on the Vortex and Leupold scopes is unmatched...I haven't needed service on my NightForce or Zeiss's, which have been "bulletproof" to date. In my experience, any of the four will work out just fine...but I'm becoming a Leupy VX-3/R/6 or Vortex Razor guy. YMMV.
