Additionally first shot fliers could be as simple as anticipation of recoil

Getting up and down from behind the rifle can easily cause that problem even though I still think your rifle doesn't like the eld at the current seating depth.
Lol apparently not very well loland hows that working out for you lol
..... now before someone says cold barrel is always high I shoot once get in the truck with a/c on high with the rifle wait 15 minutes then shoot and it’s always the same factory ammo don’t do it
I'll ask again, FWIW, do you get in the truck with a/c on high with the rifle wait 15 minutes then you shoot the first shot or only after the first shot?I don’t hunt from the truck I got back in the truck to cool the dam barrel off quicker lol sheeesshh
Lol it takes 10 minutes to get there I shoot and get back in the truck with the a/c on for 15 minutes to cool the barrel then get out shoot and get back in the truck until I have shot all 5 roundsI'll ask again, FWIW, do you get in the truck with a/c on high with the rifle wait 15 minutes then you shoot the first shot or only after the first shot?
Something else nobody has considered, if we're shooting 5 round groups, how do we know it's the first shot and not the 6th shot?Try one of those battery powered mattress inflation pumps. They have a nipple that works well.

Look up smoking bullets, sharpie the bullet, then seat at mag length, close the bolt, slowly and carefully extract, if you see the rifling marks, you're into the lands, if you don't, you pull the bullet out a little farther (after re-marking) and try again. Once you find the lands, you can start deciding how far off the lands, berger has a process for this, but essentially, pick a mid charge, load .005 .001 .0015 .0020 .0025 off the lands (5 each) and see what groups best, then with this coal, work up your powder charges.Another question on seating depth I DO NOT HAVE A WAY TO CHECK SEATING DEPTH WITH A GUAGE another reloader told me to seat the bullet in a empty brass and keep seating it till the bolt was easy to close then seat .10 deeper is this correct?
I have that part what do I need to buy for a certain caliber? I looked on MidwayUSA and I wasn’t sure what all I needed as far as the 6.5 creedmoor I’m pretty sure I’m just going to take the scope off and sell it I have my .270win I feel it out performs the 6.5 anyway I’m not going to shoot over 400 yards if I am at all and it’s too heavy for the girls to carryView attachment 848038 This is a Hornday L&L OAL gage with a modified case, for sale cheap at most Sportsman wharehouse (Google)
