Why is it that leaders from groups that have, historically, been persecuted to extremes seem to be vehemently anti gun rights. Blacks and Jews have been fighting for survival through human history. Bloomberg, Ed Koch , Charles Schumer, Diane Feinstein are frt and center with the confiscation crowd. Most Black learder, Obama, Sharpton, Jessie Jackson are of the same ilk. I never see either group represented in pro gun discussions.

This is really not that hard to understand. It comes down to the urban/rural divide. If you grew up poor in the city - as many Black people did - your only exposure to guns comes from gang bangers' stray bullets flying through the windows. If you grew up middle-class or rich in the city - as many Jewish people did - your only exposure comes from scary stories on the evening news. It doesn't matter what color you are, it matters where you grow up. Don't attribute to malice what can be explained by upbringing and mental habit.

In addition, among racial minorities in this country gun ownership is strongly associated with the xenophobic far right. Ethnic groups who already feel marginalized by the right have no reason or personal frame of reference to make the mental association between guns and freedom.

Don't make this out to be more significant than it is.
