Why We Don't Intervene

A recent video calls a bunch of men on a subway cowards for not intervening in this incident where this woman was assaulted on a New York Subway and none of the witnesses made any attempt to intervene.



I've seen numerous discussions here that essentially say the same thing "If you let that man do that you are a coward.



In this video someone does intervene and he's later hailed as a hero but if you notice the newspaper story on the bottom right in this photo he was later charged with murder.

Also please note the main story on the page about a security guard who detained a shoplifter which was his job and was arrested for it.

"Societal decay" is not in our scope, some of us cannot access the age-limited video, the article is not legible, and ST&T is not about getting into things in which we have no business.
