I'm thinking of getting a Henry Big Boy chambered in .357 and I was wondering if it would take .38 special as well. I know most .357 revolvers will shoot .38, but I don't know if the feed mechanism in the Henry will handle it.

It's listed on their website as .357 Magnum/.38 Special, so I would say "yes".

it should but its not uncommon to have issues with one round or the other. Im mostly going off of everything i have heard about from marlin, rossi, etc. My marlin feeds both fine. good luck

Because the .357 mag/38 spcl. both nead space on the rim, then yes. Although as already mentioned, it may or may not feed reliably. I doubt such an issue would present being that, the two cartridges are separated by such a very slight difference in OAL.

You'll have a small ring of junk in the chamber where the case ends (because its shorter than a 357) but it'll shot just fine.

I would say just make sure you clean it regularlyl.
