Wilson Case Holder Substitution

I need to trim some 30.06 cases for the Garand on the L.E. Wilson case trimmer. I find I don't have a 30.06 case holder.
But the .308 case holder seems to hold it concentric, steady and true. Wilson says the two holders are differnt, but I will finish this job with the .308 holder.
My concern is that the case might be deformed by the .308 holder??? I will be looking for that.

I wonder if anyone on the Highroad has run into this problem.

I can't imagine there would be a problem both Lee and RCBS list the same case holder size for the two different brass. The rim diameter (size) for both is .473". They might be trying to sell more stuff or something.

OOPS: My bad! I was thinking of a lathe type trimmer.

If you are that strong, I don’t want to play thumb war with you.

That said, they are different. Keep the holder in the rails and take a light cut, I bet you’ll be alright though.

Thank you fellas. The behind the shoulder SAAMI spec differnce had me worried. I shot 20 rounds today using the .308 holder and things seem to be OK.
I may order that correct holder next time I print some money.
I like to use that cranky trimmer when it's a small number to do. My older Wilson stuff wants to rust like your one holder and I see they have fixed that with their newer stuff.
It does look like a lathe.

Dammmmmmm , that's a work of art. Probably too pretty for my reloading room.
