I obtained a Win 54 in 30-06 several years ago. At first I thought it was a sporterized '03. According to Wiki it was produced from 1925-1930, replaced by the model 70. The gun is missing ALL of the bottom metal- the entire mag assembly, trigger guard, and hardware. Otherwise its in very good shape. It has one of those Williams peep sights, and not modified for a scope. Wood and metal are very nice. I don't have any $ in it, but whatever I decide to do with the thing, having it complete and functional would be preferred. Numerich doesn't have anything for it. Any suggestions on where to get the parts to get that old rifle up and running?

Go to eBay as soon as possible. There is a magazine box, spring and follower for sale for about $60 and the auction closes in about 4 hours. Just go to eBay and type in Winchester 54. It is off of a 270 but will fit your 30-06.

I am late on that one, but if it ever happens to you again, just use the Tor browser if at all possible. It allows you to browse "from" wherever you prefer.

FL-NC, there is still about a half hour left before the auction closes. There are no bids on the items so keep watching eBay as you may have a chance to get the items yet. The seller may relist the items if they don't sell.
